This charming semi detached farmhouse with European flair, is located in a peaceful, quiet, rural setting with mature gardens + plenty of lawn space.
There are friendly cats + dog, alpaca, goats, doves, geese, chooks and Honey, the horse to enjoy who loves lots of attention.
The open plan living area opens up to a private verandah with comfortable outdoor furniture to enjoy a BBQ.
The place is self contained with a fully equipped kitchen + dining area and an exquisite lounge with Rimu floors and handmade rugs.
It truly is a home away from home, just walk in and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
We have a big selection of books, puzzles, DVD's and CD's for those rainy days.
It provides a homely atmosphere with 2 spacious bedrooms + 1 bathroom.
An extra single bed can be placed in the lounge and or in the first bedroom if more than 4 people are staying.
Horse riding can be arranged with the nearby horse trekking business. After riding you can relax in the natural hot pools or spa nearby. There are stunning coastal + bush walks + exciting jetboat rides.
The exciting Whale Island Tours are very popular, there is a seal colony and you might see some dolphins or whales on the way out.
Your hosts Harold + Charlotte will ensure that you are having a comfortable + enjoyable stay. Charlotte speaks both German + English.
On site is our wool craft boutique studio with beautiful hand spun, hand dyed wool, accessories, garments and felted products, an ideal New Zealand souvenir or gift.

Summary: This is a wonderful house with a fantastic host and we would definitely want to stay again if we were in the area. We even contemplated staying a few extra days if the house had been available, which it wasn't. The only hiccup was the intermittent wifi which we needed to use at the time but this was not a deal breaker, we just had to be a bit more patient to get done what we needed to. Overall I give the Farmhouse Getaway 10 out of 10.

Summary: Excellent place to stay in the countryside. 10 minutes drive to the town. Stunning gardens. Couple of good cafes close by in farm shops. Good walking along the coast to ohope and further inland in the forests.

Summary: An outstanding holiday destination. Tranquil summarises the environment aptly. The accommodation was first-rate; it was very comfortable and clean. Charlotte was most welcoming and kind and provided helpful advice throughout our stay. This has to be the best holiday accommodation we have experienced; it is beautifully furnished and expansive. The garden is stunning and beautifully maintained. Highly recommended.
