Fully self-contained and peaceful for a relaxing getaway.
Turmeric Cottage has an eco-friendly design, constructed with the sun, wind, rain and the seasons in mind which minimises the need for power (mostly solar), heating, and cooling. Many sustainable materials have also been incorporated in the construction. In addition, this cottage is now also air conditioned for your comfort. Please note that the Cottage has a composting toilet. Full kitchen facilities allow you to self-cater for all meals. There is a BBQ on the verandah. Coffee and tea are provided. There is also a common area in which you can enjoy the fireplace or perhaps cook your own pizzas in the wood fired pizza oven (additional $25 for firewood). There are many native animals that call Palmwoods Eco Escape home. We also have happy chickens.
We have a second Cottage on the property - Piccabean Cottage - for those who might be travelling with friends or family.
Guests are welcome to explore much of the15 acre property. Surfaces are uneven and may be slippery. Walking shoes are encouraged.
There is lots to see and do on the Sunshine Coast. In Palmwoods there are several local eateries including the popular Rick's Garage, repurposed as an American 50's diner, with big burgers and a whiskey bar upstairs. On a Thursday night and weekend lunch you'll often see a surprising array of classic cars and bikes. It is only a short drive to Montville, Maleny and the famous Eumundi Markets.
Palmwoods Eco Escape is 3.8km from Palmwoods Railway Station and 24km from Sunshine Coast airport. A local bus terminates 1km away, with two daily services, Monday to Friday. Other bus routes service the bus stop near the railway station.

Summary: It was a lovely, clean and private cabin with a new aircon. It's conveniently located. The only problem was that the place had a lot of kind of weird medium sized cockroaches. We killed about 6 adults and about 20 tiny ones. I wouldn't stay again unless this issue is dealt with. I meant to mention it at the end of the trip but forgot.

Summary: We were really happy with the location of the accommodation. The owners were excellent to deal with. It was so peaceful, even thought there was other accommodation on site you could not hear them which was really great. I would highly recommend this accommodation, locate you 30 minutes from the Maroochydore, so close to Montville and surrounds.

Summary: The property had a unique air to it as it not only was private within a rainforest setting, but filled with wildlife and gardens that the host was happy to walk us through to show her fruits and vegetables. We loved having free access to the whole property, our only regret is not having time to do the rainforest walk but we're very intent on returning again!

Summary: Everything was just right when I stayed in this little cottage in the forest. The cabin is well appointed and the fresh, organic eggs in the fridge are a welcome bonus. I loved the environmental aspects that are everywhere on this property. I felt very much at home and that was also thanks to the lovely hosts who are delightful people. If you want nature, quiet, fresh air and comfort then this is the place for you. It is not too far from all the excellent places to be found in the Sunny Coast Hinterland if you can drag yourself away from the cottage.
