Positive: Walter and his family were wonderful hosts on their island in the Uros. Our room was huge and light filled with beautiful views over the lake and mountains. We were very comfortable, especially considering I had sprained my ankle a few days prior and couldn't do too much activity. It was the perfect place to rest and just watch the birds and scenery. The home cooked food was so warm, simple, and delicious. I loved learning about the islands from him and the traditional boat tour he took us on (with his sweet dog) only a beautiful sunny day was perfect. I'd absolutely recommend anyone looking to stay on the island to stay here. It was a highlight of our trip to Peru.

Positive: Everything was amazing! The beds and covers were so soft and warm. As well as being a fabulous engineering project, it is also very stylish inside. Others have said that there wasn't a huge amount of food but we thought it was ideal. Super fresh and beautifully presented. We loved learning about the building of the island and going out in the traditional boat. We loved our time here. So peaceful and comfortable. Thank you again Walter & family x

Positive: Staying on Uros Island was a truly wonderful experience. We stayed in a beautifully decorated room on the island where Walter's family lives. Walter was incredibly helpful, arranging our arrival (his father picked us up by motorboat). Throughout our stay, the family took great care of us, cooking us delicious meals, and Walter took us on a boat tour of Uros Island, explaining how the islands are built and how the community lives. He then organized a day trip to Taquile Island before we even thought of it ourselves. Walter sells beautiful handicrafts made by his family on the island. Watching the sunrise from the island's observation deck and the breathtaking night sky is an unforgettable experience.

Negative: It gets really cold at night. Luckily, Walter provided us with a gas heater.

Positive: Walter and his family are extremely kind and attentive. The home cooked meals are very nourishing. The lodge is located near the primary entryway into the islands. You couldn't ask for a more picturesque setting to wake up in. There's an overlook and outdoor lounge that are great places to relax and enjoy the environment. Walter is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share history and information about the Uros, local flora and fauna, and the lake. Our transport into Puno was delayed but Walter and his dad made efforts to adjust and were responsive and easy to communicate with.

Negative: It gets cold! Make sure to pack an extra layer or two, Walter has made sure the bed has plenty of blankets and a heater in the room to keep you comfortable at night.
