Are there restaurants nearby?
There are many dining options within 20 minutes drive of the villa. Local Indonesian food can be found everywhere. Some of our favorite Indonesian and western options include:
Joshua District
A great casual dining spot mid way between Villa Abadi and our nearest beach just 5 minutes from the villa. Serves a good selection of great value food. They have beer but don't sell wine, you can take your own and there's no corkage charge.
Fat Hog
A short drive from the villa, Fat Hog is a laid back place that serves a good selection of local and international dishes. The lobster pasta is incredible!
Echo beach
Echo Beach is very popular with surfers. It has a good selection of casual Asian and western food including a BBQ fish and meat selection. One of our favorite casual lunch spots. Try the Canggu fried chicken, tuna steak or homemade beef pie.
Plumbers Arms
This is a British style pub which serves all the usual British food including fish and chips, pies as well as a large selection of sandwiches, wines and beers. Located a couple of doors along from Bali Buda and Kunti III. Our recommendations are the Sunday roast, the Ploughmans Lunch or the Shepherds pie!
Finns Recreation Club (was Canggu Club)
Finns is a beautiful colonial style building situated in large grounds in the village of Canggu and has a large swimming pool, gym, spa and an increasing number of family oriented entertainment facilities. Daily and weekly memberships are available but are not required for the casual restaurant overlooking the grounds serving a variety of cuisines.
Sarong
Sarong is a lovely restaurant serving a wide selection of Asian cuisine from probably the longest menu in Bali! Reservations are highly recommended as it is a popular restaurant. Also have gluten free, dairy free and nut free menus.
Sardine
Sardine is a charming restaurant located in a large bale overlooking paddy fields in Kerabokan. As the name suggests the menu is fish focused but they also serve a selection of other classics such as steak.
Soori Villas
This 5 star villa/hotel development is less than ten minutes from the villa through local villages and paddy fields. It has a seafront restaurant serving a good selection of regional Indonesian and international food as well as a lovely bar overlooking the sea. It is a nice place to enjoy lunch or evening cocktails or a special meal.

There are small shops in the village at the top of the drive where you can buy water, beer, eggs, crisps/chips. There is a small supermarket less than 5 minutes drive from the villa and a larger Pepito's about 10 minutes away. Bali Deli is an expat type supermarket in Seminyak and there is a large Carrefour on Sunset Road in Kuta.

Summary: We have had an amazing time at Villa Abadi. The property has everything you could want and is located away from the more touristy areas. A driver is available for trips into Canggu and Seminyak where there are some great restaurants. Bambu is highly recommended. The staff are all lovely and extremely helpful. If we ever went back to Bali we would definitely use Villa Abadi.

Summary: Whoever said that there is no such thing as paradise, has never stayed in Villa Abadi. Both the inside and outside living space has been carefully crafted with attention to every detail. From the gorgeous lamps in the lounge and on the upstairs landing and balcony, to the beautiful Balinese beds in all three bedrooms to the spectacular garden, outdoor eating, lounging space and koi pond. Its a real home from home with a charismatic draw and a special charm that sets it apart from very many other villas I have stayed in . The staff are equally charming, always smiling; nothing is too much trouble. I was truly sad to have to leave and am looking forward to returning.

Summary: Great property away from crowds of tourists but ideal location to explore island. The property team are simply amazing so helpful and friendly. We enjoyed an amazing holiday highly recommend renting scooters and getting out there to experience real Bali. Ratti the property manager is a great source of information and will help you make all arrangements for you including driver etc etc. The team went beyond anything we could imagine when our flights were cancelled without Ratti we would have been totally stuck but she helped us even driving us herself to airline office. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Summary: This is a lovely villa for a relaxing holiday. The pool area is just gorgeous and we enjoyed our stay. Just keep in mind that it is fairly isolated and not close to shops and restaurants so you will need a car if you want to eat out. Otherwise, the chef option is ok. Would definitely recommend if you want to really get a way from it all.

Summary: We had a lovely time at the Villa Abadi. It is a very spacious villa, with a lovely view, artful interior and lovely housekeeping staff. The villa was clean, well cared for. And we enjoyed the privacy it offered -with a good view over the rice fields. Hera cooked us delicious breakfasts, the chauffeur Gede Agus brought us anywhere we wanted to go. He even brought one day a big kite [borrowed from his son] for one of our party who had very fond memories of Indonesian kite fighting when he had been young - and they flew the kite together - which was a lovely gesture and a highlight in our stay. We had one day the chef cook Buda cooking us Rijsttafel - a selection of Balinese dishes - together with Hera, and it was delicious - we would recommend him any day! - Picking up food from the night market was a good other choice and we had one night the most delicious fried small bananas with cocos and sweet syrup - Yummm! Munggu Beach is about 30min drive but well worth it - it is still a quiet beach, beautiful sunsets with that ‘faraway’ holiday feel. Communications with the owner Joanna was efficient and lovely as she helped us planning our stay with suggestions and solved any problems before they would arise. The beaches are not far away though it can take up to 30+ min to get there due to traffic issues in day time. We would recommend a stay in Villa Abadi anytime and hope to be able to come back one day.

Summary: The personell was very kind and cleaning was top. Villa has nice facilities but there are som animals in the house (not dangerous). The location is not really what we expected though as you'll need a taxi or motorbike anywhere, no restaurants, beaches or minimarkets near enough (walking distance). Really recommend the chef, he prepared the best food we have ever had in Bali. Taxi guys Rafael and Putu are really nice.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Abadi. Its a really beautiful villa, with lovely Balian style grounds, and a great pool (which our kids loved). Locally there are are a couple of street vendors selling sate, and bakso ayam (chicken ball soup), and there's two small warungs (local style restaurant). There's a lovely beach which you can walk to from the villa, which took me 40 minutes at a brisk stroll. You'll need to hire a car (or scooter, if you dare), or use the local drivers recommended by the owners (which we did) as the location is a little isolated from other towns and beaches. The communication from the owner, Joanne was second to none both before and during the holiday. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Summary: This villa is absolutely beautiful! My boyfriend and I came to Bali for the first time, and this place was perfect. My boyfriend is a Dive Master, so it was a bit out of the way for lots of diving....but this villa was so relaxing and stunning that it was worth the commute! The villa staff was so sweet and accommodating. We took advantage of the private chef who made us some delicious meals! We also paid for the private driver, which we recommend if you want to explore without having to personally brave the crazy Bali traffic! Rafael the driver was super helpful and shared lots of stories and gave us a nice insight into Balinese culture. We had massages right by the pool 3 separate times because they were so relaxing. Can’t beat the price! We absolutely fell in love with this villa and Bali and are already planning on making it an annual destination. The people here are so kind and it made us never want to leave! Joanne, the owner, was absolutely amazing at helping us book our stay and answering our questions. One night there was a tiny power issue, and she was quick to email me and give us a bottle of wine for our troubles. She went above and beyond! Stay here, you won’t regret it! :)

Summary: Beautiful Villa in lovely countryside location. Local people friendly. Some grocery shops and local eateries within walking distance. Nice pool - good temperature - in pretty garden with sun loungers. Large gazebo for shade and outside dinning. Wifi excellent. Photo's of villa are accurate. A car is useful and google maps gives accurate travel times, however, if you want to just sit and soak up ambience then local drivers are available.
