Villa Chavaniac is a unique oceanfront property on the island of Vieques. It is one of the few large oceanfront vacation rentals and offers 180 degree views of the merging of the Atlantic Ocean with the Caribbean Sea and the islands of Culebra, Puerto Rico and El Yunque National Rainforest.
Villa Chavaniac is a 3,900 square foot paradise comprising two separate levels of living and sleeping accommodation. The main suite 'ESPACE' is at the ocean level, but there are two fully self contained suites on the second level, which we have called 'VERDURE' and 'SOLEIL'. These two additional suites provide you with the option of increasing the sleeping accommodation of Villa Chavaniac from six, ten or fourteen guests. Our base rate is for a rental of the whole property but inquire with us for these options as well. We have a policy of not renting to separate groups, so our guests can fully enjoy the privacy of the property and its amenities.
Villa Chavaniac sits directly on the oceanfront in the beachside neighborhood of Bravos de Boston close to the main town of Vieques, Isabel II. The beach in front is rocky and not for suitable for swimming (it is for fishing and farther away on the reef, for surfing). It can only be accessed by stairs adjacent to the property. Most of the beaches in Vieques are in protected natural reserves.
The property is thoughtfully designed with air conditioning throughout, but may be completely opened to the outdoors to enjoy the constant ocean breezes and nature sounds.
Villa Chavaniac boasts a beautiful infinity pool. The pool sits directly on the ocean with the gentle waves lapping against the wall. There are ample terrace spaces with multiple seating and lounging areas, landscaped gardens, two outdoor showers, off street parking for three cars, and electronic security.
Throughout the entire property Villa Chavaniac offers wireless internet and air conditioning for when you might need it.
Suite ESPACE is located at ocean level and is the primary residence. It has three-bedrooms and three-and-one-half bathrooms.
The kitchen is fully equipped and you will be in your element preparing appetizers, dinners and cocktails. Three bedrooms with full ensuite bathrooms create the perfect environment for any combination of house guests. Two of the bedroom suites open to the pool terrace and ocean and the third bedroom has ocean and pool views. The flooring throughout is of white coral stone with matte blue accent tiles and blended tastefully with mahogany doors and muted paint colors. The furnishings are high end with unique pieces of art.
Suite SOLEIL is located on the second level of Villa Chavaniac and has a large outdoor terrace for outside dining, relaxing on a lounge chair, or simply taking in the views of the pool, Atlantic Ocean merging with the Caribbean Sea and the Island of Culebra. The two bedooms, one with a king size bed and one with a queen size bed both have air conditioning, and there are two full bathrooms. There is also a galley kitchen, living room, dining room, and private entry.
Suite VERDURE is directly adjacent to SOLEIL, has its very own large ocean front terrace with outdoor dining and lounge chairs for relaxing and enjoying the dramatic views of the Atlantic Ocean merging with the Caribbean Sea, as well as the main island of Puerto Rico and El Yunque National Rainforest. The two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with a queen size bed, both both offer air conditioning, and there is one full bathroom in addition to a galley kitchen, dining room, living room and private entry.

Summary: Loved the location. It was great for our group to stay separately but convene into a nice area with a big kitchen. If I had any thing bad to say it would be other VRBO's that I stay in leave spices that are left behind for their next customers, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee, etc. It may be nitpicky but it's always nice. I certainly would recommend this to anyone with a large family or group.

Summary: We completely fell in love with Vieques, and Villa Chavinac was the perfect place to do so. Where to begin? Ok lets start with the outside. First off the pool is more spacious than it looks in photos. What a way to start and end each day at that pool - looking and listening to the roaring waves that you are directly looking out on! Never mind the outdoor showers! The two floors of the house both have beautiful and spacious decks to look out on the beautiful ocean. As for the interiors - the set up worked so perfectly for our group of 10 guests, who range in age from 13 - 85 yo. Upstairs there are 2 apartment/condos with two bedrooms each. On the ground floor there are 3 large ensuite bedrooms along with a 4th bathroom of the kitchen. The kitchen was very well stocked on this floor and has an open plan dining room and living area - so nice to look out at ocean while eating at the dining table. This floor is where we all hung out and we felt very comfortable and it really is a beautiful home. The neighborhood is fantastic - a ten minute walk from the ferry or a super quick car ride. There are chickens, horses and cats everywhere and it is delightful. Note: we got to spend a morning volunteering at the Vieques Humane Society where they help the island's cats and dogs. A great experience was had. But back to Villa Chavinac. The owners were great to deal with - very responsive to our questions and offered lots of helpful information. I cant wait to rent this amazing home again!

Summary: Everything exactly as pictured. Lots of privacy using two condos upstairs with gorgeous views. Whole family able to gather in big kitchen for meals and swimming in the wonderful pool overlooking the ocean. A perfect experience for our family of 10

Summary: We had a family trip and rented out the whole house for 14 people (ages 7-75). The house was even better than we expected. We loved the pool, the rooms, having separate apartments and everything about the house. The pool overlooking the ocean was an awesome place to hang out in the morning, afternoon, and at night (you could look out from the pool to the ocean and see crabs, little sharks, fish, and iguanas). We appreciated the separate apartments that were convenient yet provided privacy. We walked to the bars, restaurants and grocery stores in town and it was a great central location to access the Vieques Beaches and towns. Note that you will be in a neighborhood with a wide range of houses from high end to vacant, but we appreciated the diverse and integrated setting of the neighborhood and Vieques overall. The hosts and our local contact for the house were very responsive and helpful and the instructions they provided for check in and checkout made it an easy and efficient experience. If you are looking for perfection surrounded by luxury, this house and Vieques probably isn’t for you…but if you are looking for a great house in a beautiful setting on an island with a ton of charm and fantastic beaches, then we couldn’t more highly recommend this house and overall experience.

Summary: My family and I spent the most wonderful vacation in Vieques. The Chavaniac villa provided such incredible accommodations which made for an incredible experience. The house from top to bottom is a testament to making your guests feel at home. Every bedroom having its own bathroom, the decor, the views, the pool, the main kitchen having all utensils needed to prepare meals, and above all the cleanliness. We were happy to have found this house and wanted to stay longer. I'm sure you get compliments from your guests all the time because you deserve it. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday celebration so memorable. We hope to be able to return to your villa. Thank you again for providing your guests with such an amazing place.

Summary: The views at this location are unbeatable. The communications with the owners tremendous. The pool was just perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfasts and dinners. The only recommendations for future renters is to make sure you have arranged a rental car upon your arrival that will pick you up at the airport or ferry. Bring coffee and spices.
