Positive: Everything. Melanie, Larry and the team treated us more like family than guests. They organised all our trips and activities, at no extra cost, even after we changed our plans. The location was perfect, like an oasis in the jungle, the pool was fantastic and the room was very tastefully decorated with everything we could need.

Positive: If you are reading this and trying to decide where to stay in the San Ignacio area, just stop and make the reservations for Villa Massis. We got back from Belize and spent our first few days on the west side of the country. I was worried about where to stay and came across this resort and took a chance based upon other reviews. I have to say that we were so happy that we chose this place to base ourselves out of while in the San Ignacio area. Larry, Mel and all of the rest of the gang were so great and helpful. Larry has a wealth of knowledge (literally, wrote the book) on all things Belize. He sat down and took the time to write out a complete itinerary for us and made sure we saw the best of the area. This included the ATM cave, Rio pools, caves, ruins, waterfalls among other things. Mel cooked us some superb meals and demonstrated her top notch kitchen skills. Our tasty breakfast was ready every morning to kickstart our day and our Belizean dinners were all prepped and ready no matter what time we got back from exploring the country. The rooms had everything we could ask for and the Belizean art made it extra special. Only regret was that we were so busy that we didn’t get to hang out around their new pool. We can’t say enough good things about this place and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you to Villa Massis for making my kids first experience in Belize a wonderful one. We will definitely be staying with you all in the future.

Positive: This is a family owned Villa. Larry was very accommodating he helped us with transportation and with tours. Mel is the chef and every meal was excellent. You have to try her fryjacks they were amazing. The room was perfect, we had a daily visitor that we named Joey. It was a small bird that would "knock" on the door. The WIFI is strong and the AC is cold. I really enjoyed my time with Larry and Mel and appreciate their helpfulness for my first trip to Belize.
Negative: The only downside is there isn't a lot to do in walking distance. However if you plan on taking tours and relaxing this is the best place for you and your family.

Positive: Where do I start!!!!!!!! The Villa Massis staff is more like family. They served us like royalty and treated us as if we were family. I would stay at Villa Massis every time I visit Bullet Tree!!!! Everytime I visit Belize!
Negative: I loved EVERYTHING. Mel, Amini, Larry, Lucy, and Carlos were super accommodating! I would not stay anywhere else!!!!

Positive: Very friendly staff met us upon arrival and helped us throughout our stay. They were available to help arrange tours if interested and gave recommendations for restaurants and things to do.
Negative: This wasn't an issue for us as we had rented a car, but I could imagine the stay may have been more difficult if you don't have a car of your own. I believe the tours may pick up that far out and I'm sure if the staff helped arrange the tours it wouldn't be an issue, but going for dinners, etc or just to down town San Ignacio would be annoying without a car.

Positive: The property is in the wild; we had Howler monkies in the tree right outside our room two afternoons in a row! The pool was nice, but the awesome dinners every night were the best.
Negative: The roads to get there were typical Belize roads (bumpy) for the last 5 minutes of the drive.
