Positive: The atmosphere was very friendly and we felt like at home. The design and lay out of the villa made you feel relax and comfortable. The hospitality was on the high level.

Positive: At first glance this property is jam-packed with an eclectic, seemingly haphazard mixture of object d'art and paintings. But once chatted with the owner, we discovered these are personal, meaningful collection of items from family travels and own creations full of valued memories. The host was most welcoming and informative, directing us to best ways of travelling into the walled city and recommending us to one of the few restaurants opened on a Monday night.
Negative: We were not able to enjoy the full glory of the villa's outside space, as depicted on the website, as it was left pretty much unattended to during the winter months. A coffee machine rather than instant coffee would also have been appreciated in the room.
Summary: A charming over-night stay at this bed and breakfast.

Positive: The house is full of amazing artwork and the hosts looked after us very well. Breakfast was more than the usual French breakfast as we were also served scrambled eggs but of course it also included wonderful baguette and croissants. A big plus is the secure and free parking at the house and the Villa is conveniently located to the historic town center.
Negative: The stairs to the upper floor are quite steep and difficult to navigate with heavy luggage. Also the bathroom floor is of white polished marble which looks great but becomes incredibly slippery when wet.

Positive: The villa is a little bit out of town but we knew that when booking. It's very close to a large parking lot where a free shuttle is easily available. It was lovely having the spacious pool and patio and the very large rooms, as well as parking within the gated compound. Michel was welcoming and has decorated the home with lots of unique artistic touches. We especially enjoyed the murals. There were tea and coffee options in the room and Michel was usually available to make a lovely cup with his machine as well. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet the other guests at the breakfast table (breakfast service starts at 9:00 a.m.) and while watching Euro Cup games in the living room. Overall a great place to stay while visiting Avignon with loads of character!
Negative: I realise that there is a constant battle with winds and dust in Provence so it's hard to keep up with things outdoors but the patio tables/chairs/cushions were not kept clean. The pool itself was very clean, however.

Positive: Villa Pauline has a unique atmosphere given the way it is designed and decorated. Lovely style. The hosts are very friendly and informed us about the city and dinner suggestions. The breakfast was prepared by them in the morning so you feel a personal touch. Room and especially bathroom is very spacious, it is also very quiet to sleep at night with an open window.
Negative: The area around the pool was not cleaned at that time and I assume there are some unfinished works still to do. This did not bother us, however should we stay more days would be more enjoyable with organized surroundings. :)
