Each room is elegantly decorated, and the well-stocked kitchen facilitated cooking delightful meals at the large dining table, set against the enchanting Swiss skyline. Unique to this property is its singular accessibility via a cogwheel train, infusing the journey with a dash of adventure and exclusivity. Cars park at a nearby station in Vitznau for a fair daily fee. The train ride is a scenic experience, with hourly departures. A useful tip for future guests is to pack in backpacks rather than bulky suitcases, aiding the short walk from the station to the house. An infinity pool seamlessly blends with the lake and mountains, offering a swimming experience like no other. Another feature is the wood-fired hot tub jacuzzi. Heating water with logs and immersing oneself in the jacuzzi while drinking in the panoramic views is a unique, fulfilling experience. Summary: What an amazing property! The host was amazing and helped us get milk and butter from a local farmer. We had two little places all to ourselves. The view is sooo beautiful. The only thing I may add is the local train rides right past the swimming pool so there isnt much privacy there but we didnt mind it too much. The host was so helpful and always available for questions. I would definately stay here again.

Summary: Carmen was a wonderful host. The house was absolutely beautiful and very clean. The house manager met us at the train to walk us to the house to make sure that we were well oriented with the property. The views are unbelievable! Everything from start to finish exceeded expectations. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend.

Summary: The place is just like in the pictures - the view is amazing, and the kids enjoyed the pool very much. The location is beautiful; our whole family loved hiking in the area. Highly recommend the place.

Summary: The views were absolutely gorgeous, the pictures of the property were accurate. Our favorite part was relaxing in the pool, looking at the mountains and lakes. The only thing that could have sabotaged our stay was the flies. When we arrived there were about 20 or more flies in the house because there are no screens in the open windows. The flies were parasitic and bit us in our sleep and constantly during the day. The next morning my son found the electric fly swatter and spent the whole day killing all the flies. We were finally able to relax inside the house without the flies biting us. Our suggestion would be to have the owner tell us about the electric fly swatter the first day. (It looked like a tennis racket so we didn't really know what it was but my teenage son somehow figured it out.) The other thing to note is that you are completely dependent on the cogwheel train to get you anywhere, to get food at the bottom of the mountain, to get you up and down the steep mountain, etc. That got a little tricky not having the flexibility to food shop whenever we wanted. Other than that, it was a fabulous stay with breathtaking views in a fabulous place!

Summary: We rented this property for a short family vacation and were absolutely thrilled with it. The communication with the hosts was easy and clear, and we were met at the station and taken personally to the house. Actually, it consists of the main house and a small house right next to it. The view is exactly as it appears in the listing - truly stunning. We were very happy to have the large table for our family meals together and the lovely living room complete with fireplace. We found the beds very comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped (even for feeding fondue to 7 hungry people!) I'd love to come back in the summertime to take advantage of the swimming pool as well. Many thanks for a beautiful experience!

Summary: We loved our stay in Mittlersschwanden. The view is heaven. We spent many mornings and evenings watching the sun change the colors of the mountains and lake. The train was wonderful and everyone on the mountain made us feel welcomed. The home is more than you could ask for.
