Positive: This is a modest accommodation with shared living room/ kitchen and bath. The beds are comfortable and the ocean view spectacular. If you are looking for a resort this is not for you. But if you are looking to have a more Hawaiian experience at a good price this lodge could be for you.

Positive: The host was friendly and the lodge area, which is the basement of the house, is decorated tastefully. The location is great and overall it was a nice experience with having an area to cook and sit outside with a view of the ocean.
Negative: Conversations and upstairs family activities can be heard from downstairs bedroom where I stayed.
Summary: I think the place is a bit pricey for what is being offered.

Positive: The flex kitchen space, common areas and outdoor grounds were great; very inviting. The amenities were thoughtful and addressed the potential needs of the guests and were much appreciated. Free oranges and macadamia nuts, what's not to like? It was also a nicely quiet location, with ease of access to nearby village and Waipio Valley Lookout.
Negative: Didn't have the opportunity to meet the owner Greg but we did have a brief phone chat upon checking in as his doorbell links with his cell phone (handy!). He was friendly and accommodating. The blinds in my room were somewhat out of whack so they did not close well enough in one section but that was a minor issue overall.
Summary: Nicely rural, a "get away from it all...but not too far away" kind of place: recommended!

Positive: The location was close to town, making it easy to go out for meals. The house was right off the main road, making it easy to find. The owner was onsite and available to answer questions. We rented all 3 rooms and sharing the living room felt as if we rented the entire floor. Very comfortable and the owners were very nice.
Summary: Nice comfortable accomodations, close to town and easy to find. Close to Waipio Outlook.

Positive: The lodge had such a lovely feeling to it, tasteful, clean, and happily lived in. I loved it so much that I decided to stay for my last two night in Hawaii, and used it as my base. Friendly staff and as a female solo traveller, I enjoyed knowing that their family lived upstairs, it made me feel very safe and at ease.

Positive: Great stay with Greg, next time we want to come back and stay in the yurt/tents. Very clean rooms, bathroom, and shared space. Easy peasy to check in and out, very relaxed environment. Parking right onsite.

Positive: The location is incredible if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, serene environment. The bathroom is spacious and gives plenty of room to change after showering (as long as other guests aren't waiting). The kitchen area is fantastic - there is a refrigerator, an electric kettle, an electric coffee maker, a toaster and a microwave inside the shared livingroom area. Just outside, under a roof (covered from sun/rain), there is a cooking area with pots and pans, a washing area and picnic benches. The cooking area includes a grill!!
Negative: The bed was too soft for me, and we did not get the room we chose in the picture.
Summary: We would stay here again, in a heartbeat.

Positive: Location - close to event.
Negative: not easily accessible for a disabled person, such as walking on gravel to the house, especially in the rain. No reserved parking for the handicap. Heard noisy water pipes from upstairs. No cable tv.
Summary: Enjoyed the four day stay because of the location, spent time there only to sleep and shower.
