Summary: Had a great time! Loved the location and set up for our three couples, it is in the national forest which is wonderful but does come with the rustic accommodations that go with that, Luciah was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with, saint John truly is a beautiful place!

Summary: First off the property was beautiful and close to the nicest beaches on the island. House was beautiful, private and nicely laid out. Francis Bay was a short 5 minute walk. The house has so much potential, but like prior reviews needs some TLC. Full transparency We dealt with 4-5 power outages, none longer then 4 hours but still disruptive when trying to shower preparing to go out and just getting back from beach. Communication of the outages by WAPA was never really accurate. Adding a generator would be a nice touch knowing the island is prone to outages. Bugs, sure there were mosquitos and such, but the fact they were in the house was a bit of a downer. The doors and other imperfections to the main and secondary living areas had gaps around the seals in them that must allow the mosquitos to get in unless there is another way I could not see. This was troublesome for those trying to sleep while getting kamikazed by mosquitoes. We also had geckos in the house which i didn't mind as I am sure they controlled the bug count some, but the 3 girls were terrified, mainly seeing the gecko poop everywhere. Door locks need to be replaced. Always a struggle getting back into the house trying to get the locks to unlock. Pictures online must be very outdated as the bathrooms and such look 10-15 years older then the pictures. Wear and tear is evident, but the bones of the house are good.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay. My son loved the outdoor shower (he is 9). My husband and I enjoyed the deck views while sipping on our morning coffee. House was comfortable and cool. Very quiet area of the island and extremely close to amazing beaches on the North Shore. Highly recommend for vacations with family and/or friends.

Summary: We have stayed at this property 7 different times previously and have enjoyed our stays. With each stay we seen some wear and tear. We feel that the home needs some over due maintenance. The air conditioner in the main house wasn’t working and needs to be replaced per the tech that came out. He did get it running but it was barely cooling the room. The main house was infested with mosquitos and was almost unusable. We did find some insect spray and tried that but it didn’t really help much. The washer and dryer are past needing replacement. The washer spin cycle was very finicky and not functioning properly. The house was clean and has a good variety of kitchen cooking equipment. It is sad to see the house that we have enjoyed so much needing some substantial TLC.

Summary: We were double booked because the property manager said their booking software didn’t talk to the VBRO software. The manager did find us other accommodations, but we didn’t find out until 1day before vacation. Caused a lot of last minute stress. Accommodations were no where close to original location.

Summary: We have been to St. Johns many times. This property was very secluded and quiet with a nice view. The property was clean and consist of 3 bungalows. The problem was on the first night we lost power on the lower level. The a/c worked and that was it. We called and they were very nice and prompt to investigate the issue but it was not fixed during our stay. The lower level has outdoor showers and was very difficult to do anything down there without electric. When the staff was investigating the power problem they knocked out the a/c in another upper level bungalow. That was unresolved for the rest of our trip. The TV's worked, but none of the remotes worked. Stations had to be changed by hand. The power outage downstairs also eliminated the patio lighting and the lights to see as you were going down the stairs. Other than that the bugs were very bad. St John has really changed since our last visit, Coral Bay is wiped out with few places to eat. Getting food was difficult, they have built more homes and no parking in Cruz Bay. Most places to eat required at least 2 day notice for a reservation.

Summary: This home worked great for our family of five (three teenagers) on our first visit to St. John. The location, view, and outdoor space were stellar. Easy walk to Francis Bay and amazing stargazing from the deck at night. A few thoughts: --The primary bedroom/bathroom is in a separate little cottage, which is nice and private, but be aware that there are NO window coverings at all, so if you aim to sleep in, you may want to bring some sleep masks. The other bedrooms have blinds. The (major) upside is that you wake up to gorgeous sunrises and a view of the BVIs! --Drinking water: Water is from a cistern and they recommend not drinking it (but fine for cooking and showering). By the end of the week we had accumulated a RIDICULOUS amount of plastic water bottles and discovered there is nowhere to recycle them. It would be good to know if is a better way to get drinking water (in larger/reusable jugs?) --There were lots of little biting gnats/mosquitos that made sitting outside less appealing than we would have thought (we ended up eating inside vs at the gorgeous outdoor table a few times). Definitely bring some bug spray (we also found some left behind by previous guests). --There are two outdoor showers but no shower in the lower level bedroom (which is separate from the main house). The outdoor showers were a bit dirty with bugs, etc. so our teen daughters shared a bathroom with us. No big deal but might be helpful to know. --Management was friendly and responsive.
