This beautifully appointed, newly renovated, historic Lake Placid home is now available! This is the original home of the family who founded and operated the "North Pole, Santa's Village." In tribute to their family and all of the 'spirit' they have given so many, the home is now known as The Claus Family Lodge. This home has character like no other. Artisanship, and architecture only found in Lake Placid in the 40's has been modernized and is now available for all to enjoy. The living area exhibits expansive windows with views of White Face Mountain and the famous glacier Lake Placid. In addition, the house is only a five minute walk to Mirror Lake with all of its shops and internationally renowned restaurants. Claus Family Lodge is equipped with a Huge (20x40)Volley Ball /Badminton with a sand court, BBQ gas grill, large fire pit, hot tub, an additional lot with kids play ground, horse shoes and more. Inside there are new amenities a foosball table, pingpong table, 2 -80 inch flat smart Tv's, a modern and upgraded kitchen with beautiful slate floors, Carrara Granite countertops, 3 fireplaces, 7 bedrooms and best of all, the Lodge will comfortably accommodate 16.The Lodge has a double lot which has a children's play ground. The family room has gorgeous original barn wood walls, a wet bar, heated floors, a fireplace and furniture that is wonderfully cozy and inviting. The Hot tub is super easily accessible from the sliding glass doors. The kitchen has been upgraded with brand new appliances, 2 ice makers.. 2 refrigerators, double sink, beautiful granite, slate floor, pots, pans, toaster oven, fondue maker, blender, mixer, and Oneida silverware to complement the Mikasa Calder Red dish setting for 26. The dinning room has 2 -106 inch tables and close by is a 54 inch round to easily serve meals or play cards at the same time. Around the corner is the living room with a comfy curved couch, marble fireplace and beautiful large windows to view Whiteface and Lake Placid. The bedrooms begin shortly thereafter, each offering a pillow top king bed, with a 1000 thread count sheets to help you relax and get some well needed rest. The Master has a king pillow top with 2 single pullout sleeper couches, bedroom 2 and 3 both house king pillow tops, The upstairs hosts 2 bathrooms, 1 king, 1 queen and 3 sets of bunks. All beautifully appointed and comfortable for you to enjoy. The downstairs game room is full of leather sleepers, an 80 inch TV a pingpong table Foosball and dart board. There is another bedroom that offers additional sleeping and a downstairs full bath. The carpets are plush and the environment is inviting. We strive for quality in hopes that all of our guests have a terrific stay and a relaxing and enjoyable time. We want to provide you with a "no hassle" experience. Summary: This place is amazing! So spacious and clean. It was everything and more to us. We had 13 people and we never felt crowded at all. We used every inch of this house and the amenities were fantastic. Close walk to the town 8-10 minutes and it was centrally located to the town. Ann is the realtor and she was it extremely knowledgeable about "things to do" while you stay and we definitely enjoyed the ice skating rink!

Summary: We spent a week at Christmas in the Claus House. My three daughter and thier families, totaling 16, 9 adult and 7 children ages ranging from 7 to 14. Lake Placid was a winter wonderland. Plenty of snow for skiing at White Face Mt. The house was with walking distsnce to all resturaunts and shops on Main Street.

Summary: My whole family (16 people age 3-70) stayed at the Claus House for 5 nights. It was very comfortable with 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The house and grounds were spacious. The little kids used the playground once, we used the fire pit once, kids played volleyball a few times, adults used the hot tub a few times, mostly it was a home base for other excursions in the Adirondacks. Overall, a great vacation!

Summary: This was a perfect location for our girls weekend away. A short walk to the Mirror lake urban trail and all the downtown shops and restaurants. Anne was very helpful. Would recommend this house to a large party staying in Lake Placid.

Summary: Traveled with a nordic ski team to compete in a series of races at Mount Van Hoevenberg. This house was perfect for our group size, and everyone had plenty of space. The host was very nice, and was great at checking in on us to ensure everything went smoothly. Lake Placid is a beautiful place, and we will certainly be back.

Summary: We travel to Lake Placid for an annual snow shoe trip. The house worked out great for our large group. There were enough bedrooms and beds in each room that accommodated our group well. The parking was really our only issue. There is only parking for 4 cars on premises. Anne gave us access to additional spots about a mile away. We cooked all of our meals in the house and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hot tub was a hit with many of the members of our group.

Summary: We had a large group and had a great time. There was plenty of space inside the house and outside and is a great house for all groups. Everything listed on the house’s page was exactly how it was. It was great being within walking distance to town and only 10-15 minutes from Whiteface Mountain. Ann was a great host and was easy to get in touch with. I would rent again!
