Beautiful log cabin located on the banks of Moose River with direct water access to Moosehead Lake only yards away. Private deep water dock - bring your own boat, or rent one at the local marina, only 1/4 mile away! We now have 2 kayaks for your use, or you can rent canoes, or sign up for a whitewater rafting adventure.
Located in the center of Rockwood, heart of Moosehead Lake, this family home has everything you need for a family vacation or a romantic get-away. Three bedrooms, plus loft, and spacious great room. The private deck overlooks Moose River and deer and moose are common visitors to the property. The GAME ROOM is fully-equipped with a pool table and darts.
Other activities in the area include: hiking, fishing, mountain biking, skiing and snowmobiling. The famous Birches Resort is located only two miles away with wonderful food and atmosphere. The cozy General Store can keep you stocked with all the food and supplies you would need and is a few minutes by foot. Head directly to the snowmobile trails from the back door in winter, or head down to the water from the front door in summer!

Summary: My family and I (6 people) just recently stayed at this cabin from November 2-9, 2024. Directions from the owner were received three days prior to the rental with instructions to locate and enter the cabin. Upon arrival, the house was spotless! There was a wood burning stove on the inside of the cabin with a substantial amount of wood left in the yard for the fireplace. I would recommend bringing a small ax/hatchet to split the bigger pieces that won’t/wouldn’t fit in the wood burning stove. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for and would recommend this to anyone looking for an outdoor getaway!

Summary: The property and spacious cabin were beautifully maintained and furnished! We enjoyed having coffee watching the river, relaxing with a fire in the evenings outside, being close to tons of activities without being ‘in town’, having all the niceties and amenities right there (kitchen supplies, linens, etc). The owner was very responsive and had everything perfectly prepared. Our 2 Great Danes loved sunbathing in the grass and keeping an eye out for chipmunks. Would absolutely stay here again!

Summary: The cabin was nice. Got an intense phone call from the host during our stay that scared our group. We had a few changes of our guest list and had a last minute dog come along. Our friends were camping up north and on their way back home decided to camp in the driveway to spend the weekend with us. The host called and said no popups were allowed and we needed to pay extra animal fees, etc. the Vrbo post did not mention animal fees or no popups allowed. We did not know about extra fees, which the host demanded from us during our stay. We would have preferred to have been contacted after our stay about the additional fees so it would not have ruined our stay.

Summary: We had a great vacation at this river front home. We brought two boats and the dock set up was perfect. We got in shape going up and down the stairway to the river. We enjoyed walking on the private road. We enjoyed nightly fires when it wasn’t raining in the fire pit.

Summary: We recently had the pleasure of staying at this cabin on Moosehead Lake, and it was truly an exceptional experience. In over 30 years of vacationing at Moosehead Lake this was by far the cleanest and most well-equipped cabin I have ever stayed in. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, making it feel like a home away from home. Shane, our host, was perfect in every way. He was attentive, responsive, and genuinely cared about ensuring we had a great stay. The check-in and checkout process was seamless and easy, allowing us to focus on relaxing and enjoying our time. The cabin’s location was fantastic, with great access to the lake and just a short drive to local attractions. Overall, this cabin rental on Moosehead Lake exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-maintained retreat with an outstanding host.

Summary: We had an awesome time! Boating was great, dock was well maintained and easily accessible to the lake. Did over 250 miles of ATV riding. House is well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend booking this house for your next stay on Moosehead lake.

Summary: The property is very cozy and comfortable and appropriate for the Moosehead region. The deck is very comfortable and our family spent a great deal of time there in the morning and the evening. We had two 20 foot fishing boats that were easily secured on the boat dock. The stairs, which were 65 in number, gave me my exercise and I actually lost a bit of weight. I thank you Shane for the wonderful experience.
