Positive: The tents and room are high quality and the facilities of the hotel are good.
Negative: Although, the camp is close to Yala NP, there is a bumpy road to the entrance which even the jeeps have to drive very slowly due the the road conditions so you don't get any advantage to arrive earlier to Yala, since all the jeeps from Tissa have a pavement road directly to the entrance! Beware of your valuable things inside the room, we were robbed, although we locked the room, during the Safari.

Positive: Helpful and friendly staff. Very quiet place. Cabins are well isolated from each other, so good privacy. Good dinners and breakfast.
Negative: Not really safari tents, more like semi-permanent wood structure with fabric walls - but the overall feeling is OK. No air on during the day - understandable and it did not bother us, but nevertheless it should be mentionned. No mini-fridge in the room and this should be easy to fix. Meals are extremely expensive, like twice the price of anywhere else, and you have no choice because once you arrive in the hotel you are stuck there, the closest other restaurant is maybe 15km away. This is not normal, standard pricing (maybe just a little higher due to remote location) would be more fair. And, there is strictly no way to reach the hotel by normal car: it is a very long and bumpy road, very damaged, accessible exclusively with a 4x4 vehicle, which we were not aware of. Your car stops on the main road and hotel sends a 4x4 pick up where you transfer your luggage’s. It is in fact quite far away from the park (our fault, we thought that the hotel was close to Tissa and it is absolutely not. This is not hotel’s fault, we should have checked bette). And last when we paid the bill, it was 12€ higher than mentionned on our reservation and there is no break-down on the bill Here also it is our fault, we should have asked why this overcast, which we did not do by lack of attention. In some previous comments we have seen complaints about the fact that hotel was charging 12USD for the 4x4 pick up. Maybe this was it, in which case it would not be honnest because there is no other way to reach the hotel so definately this service MUST be part of the room fare. Altogether, nice people, good overall ambiance an nice place, and for half the price we would put a 9. For this price, we have to compare with what we get elsewhere for the same price in terms of confort and amenities and it is a little 7.
Summary: Place is OK but way too expensive for what it is.

Positive: Very helpful team. Helped arrange a cake for my wife's birthday and were always on hand for any requirements. Also helped arrange transfers etc. Room was very spacious and comfortable albeit a little dimly lit - which may be necessary for generator based power supply.

Positive: The camp is in the middle of the jungle and not too far away from the safari gate. The folks who run the camp ensure you get the best drivers and rangers for your safari. I would highly recommend folks to opt for the all day safari through the hotel! The candle light dinner under the stars was a beautiful touch!

Positive: Luxury in the middle of jungle. 5 starts service from the crew and one of the amazing food we had considering we are in the middle of nowhere. Mr. Uditha ensure our safety and everything we want and need met. He made sure our 5 year old son is happy and content. If you’re planning a safari trip, request to have Mr. Indika to be your guide as he’s one of the best!
