This renovated cottage is located a block away from beautiful Wilshire Park and four blocks away from popular Alberta Street, and two blocks away from the Alameda neighborhood. As experienced vacation rental owners, we understand that you are looking for a five star experience, which we happily provide. This property is about 15 minutes from our airport and less than ten minutes to downtown. Located on a completely private section of our large grounds, this cottage has a privately fenced area and entry. You are guaranteed off street parking right by your cottage gate! Great attention has been given to detail and consideration for comfort, with an upbeat artistic style of professional design. We pride ourselves in high end finishes, including a Tuft and Needle mattress, all down pillows, down duvets, and luxurious linens. However, for those of you who prefer down alternative bedding and pillows, we can provide these as well. Our fully equipped kitchen includes white shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, a gas range, dishwasher, microwave, full size refrigerator, as well as white dishes, many serving options, a large assortment of spices, coffee, tea, cookware and more. We are eco friendly and provide recyclable grocery bags for your convenience , as well as promoting recycling. Of course, our cottage includes a washer and dryer, with detergent provided., as well as an ironing board and iron. The bathroom has a double seated shower, with a vanity that will hold most of what you may have forgotten on your way out, while you were packing. In case you are concerned, we offer organic cleaning and laundry supplies, throughout the unit. For business travelers and others, we provide all the amenities that you want: high speed internet, a smart tv, with a generous cable offering and two leather recliners to watch your favorite programs from! The living room also has a full size leather sofa, a desk and a dining room table that seats a party of four. Come discover this special location in NE Portland!
In addition, we have off street parking for up to two cars, right at the cottage entrance. Please note that a sizable mini split heating and cooling unit has been installed in the cottage!!
Long term tenants are welcome!!!
As a side note, our yard is considered a private space. We have a well behaved dog, who is in the yard off and on throughout the day, with my being present . As such, we ask that you not use the yard door, unless we have arranged a meet and greet with my little pup.

Summary: We add reserved a different VRBO for our stay, but that one cancelled us due to a water leak. Fortunately, we were able to book this one on short notice. We had stayed there before. It is a very nice place for a couple. Very clean and well stocked. The host is very responsive and accommodating.

Summary: This is a nice house without a TV. Only had an inoperable projector and screen. At first the manager acted like I was trying to set it up wrong. 1. I shouldn’t be expected to set it up. 2. She sounded irritated with me thinking I wasn’t following the directions properly. When the manager finally came to fix it, she was unable to get it working either. She left telling me she would get in touch with the owner and get back to me. Never heard from her again. We chose this property to spend a few days helping our young grandson deal with the grief of losing his daddy who is our son. We envisioned comfy fire with Christmas movies and talks of what the future looks like without his dad and honoring him. Instead I spent the entire first day chasing 3 different remote controls that was suppose to work different parts of this hideous so called home theater. No tv in any of the bedrooms either. My grandson was very board and our intended family grief retreat was completely a waste. We traveled from Texas to be with our grandson. A trip we can’t take often and may never be able to take again due to our health issues. BEWARE

Summary: This is just a great spot. This was our second stay there and we'll be back again next year. Lill is a fantastic host, very thoughtful and generous, even offering to share home-made treats, or figs from her tree. Getting around Portland is easy from this quiet, picturesque neighborhood. 5 stars!

Summary: This is a well-maintained and beautifully decorated cottage, very comfortable! Restaurants and grocery stores were a short drive away. We very much enjoyed walking in the nearby park. Our host was very gracious and helpful! We hope to stay again in the future!

Summary: The Zen Cottage was the tranquil oasis we needed after a taxing air travel to Portland during the global IT outage. We were delayed 24 hours but communication with host was easy and check-in was organized and efficient. The cottage is exactly as it is described and pictured: CLEAN, well appointed, and comfortable. The host has thought of everything you might need (or forget) while traveling. The bed and sofa bed were comfortable; the kitchen was organized and had anything you might need; and the bathroom was equally equipped with shampoos and shower gels and lots of towels. Did I mention clean? It is immaculate! The neighborhood was quiet and well situated to the areas we were visiting. We will return for sure. Thank you Zen Cottage for a wonderful stay!

Summary: We really enjoyed this space, it had everything you could need and then some. The neighborhood is the best one in Portland and you can walk to so many things. It is nice and quiet and clean. Would definitely stay here again and plan to next time we are in Portland.
