Positive: What we liked – the location is near to town. The room was clean (bathroom not so much), and there were tea and coffee-making facilities and parking on site.
Negative: What we didn’t like - Upon arrival, unfortunately, a pipe had burst, so the reception area was soaking and the carpet was sodden – both our feet were wet. The gentleman at the desk began by asking if we were in the right place when we said we were checking in and couldn’t find our reservation. This was solved, and he was very friendly. The bathroom mirror had toothpaste on it from previous guests, and there were bulbs missing in the bathroom. When you flush the toilet the water came up and soaked the seat, and the floor - every time. There were no dish towels/dish cloths to clean the dishes, so we used towels. The second night, they appeared. The room was SO dark – try to avoid staying in room 14. From the photos, it looked like a lovely place with a nice front garden and view. From what we could see, we were put in the worst room, overlooking the driveway and a wall, and close to the reception, where the workmen were loudly working. It’s a real shame, as for the price we paid, we expected much better. The place is very run-down, but it’s easy to make it better just by making sure what you do have is done well. I hate leaving anything negative, but when we saved money to come and were met with what we got, it was disappointing.

Positive: The owner was lovely to chat, too. Made me aware that tradesmen would be on site for a little while. The shower had excellent pressure and it was hot.
Negative: Was only a panel heater for heating. Got quite cold at night time. You could tell it had been on if you went out, but if you stayed in the room, it got chilly.
