Nestled peacefully down a quiet lane in the small village of Llangennech, this pet-friendly, traditional, detached former barn has been restored to a very good standard, with a private patio and garden with a BBQ and hot tub, making it a perfect touring base for a family or couple looking to explore west Wales. ‘Glanmwrg Fawr’ has retained much of its original charm, character and lots of welcoming touches have been added, such as wi-fi and a large digital TV with DVD player. Adjoining the owner’s home, and tastefully decorated throughout with spacious living areas. Facilities for the disabled are available, the access is wheelchair friendly and on the ground floor there is a walk-in bath with a removable hydraulic bath seat, and a bedroom with super kingsize bed. The holiday home boasts a large games room with all the facilities to entertain the family during inclement weather, including a basket ball hoop, cross trainer and running machine.
The glistening Loughor Estuary is on the doorstep and provides a haven for waders and geese at the National Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre, 3 miles. The picturesque Millennium Coastal Path (and 12 mile bike track) to Pembrey Country Park leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB). For a family outing, visit the scenic Pembrey Country Park, 8 miles, and discover its 7 miles of sandy beaches set within the forest, featuring a dry ski slope, horse riding trails and model steam engines. For the sports enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy a round of golf at the Jack Nicklaus course or watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las racecourse. Away from the coast, Carmarthenshire countryside is just as promising with its array of charming market towns such as Llandelio and Carmarthen, as well the many enchanted medieval sites dotted around the county, including Kidwelly and Dinefwr 12th century castle and Heritage park. Summary: Had a great holiday. The barn was beautiful, the games room was really good for our family, and massive. The jacuzzi was stunning. The owners left a welcome basket which was a lovely touch. Summary: We had a beautiful week, the weather was great the hot tub was beautiful. Loved having a washing machine and dishwasher. Having 2 labradors with us, there is lots of room. Their was 4 of us plus the dogs. 2 upstairs bedrooms both en-suite. Kitchen diner spacious, lounge big Games room massive. Downstairs bedroom was lovely, lots of room garden was lovely with BBQ My only criticism was would of liked sun loungers to sunbathe on instead of grass. Summary: Lovely short break would be delighted to return. The owner greated us on arrival explained where to find the high chair if we needed it. they had put the cot in the bedroom ready, which was helpful she was friendly and welcoming. The Barn was warm comfortable and well equipped. we particularly enjoyed the hot tub even though it rained most of the weekend. There was plenty of things to do within striking distance. overall a very enjoyable break.
