Put your boat in the water at the boat landing (4 blocks away) and bring that boat trailer back to the "Sunset" House for safe parking. Plenty of room for that!
Your own private deepwater dock (with water and electricity) beckons for easy access to your boat, quiet sunrise coffees, dolphin sightings, kayaking, fishing, crabbing, swimming, or sunset views bathed in fiery coastal hues only seen from this side of the Island! A golf cart is highly recommended as this home is on the backside of the Island with all of its beauty and peacefulness it is about 8 blocks to dip your toes in the sand at the beach and about 6 blocks from the business district. Walkable but MORE enjoyable and relaxing with a golf cart especially since this house is also located in the middle of Folly Beach and you have about 3 1/2 miles on either side of you to explore. Loaded with wonderful sights to experience such as the bird sanctuary, the historic light house at one end of the Island and the beautiful Folly Beach County Park and Sunset Cay Marina on the other end of the Island with all kinds of wonders in between! It will so enhance your stay.
If you are planning to bring a pet, they must be preapproved at booking or shortly thereafter. Certain guidelines apply such as breed, weight being under 40 lbs., and must be over 3 yrs. of age. A nonrefundable Pet Addendum will need to be completed along with a nonrefundable deposit.
Pricing for parties bringing a boat is not included in the rental rates of the house as many guests do not bring a boat. This is considered an extra service, and you will be given a reasonable price at booking or shortly thereafter depending on your length of stay.

Summary: Teresa is a great host! She and her daughter greeted us and made us feel very welcome. She is very attentive and quick to respond with any questions. Her home is beautiful and well appointed. The location is perfect, close enough to beaches and restaurants, but quiet and secluded for your visit.

Summary: We stayed at the Sunset House to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. We had 7 adults and two teenagers and the house accommodated us all comfortably. The location is lovely and the sunset views were gorgeous! We especially appreciated how communicative our host was and how incredibly well stocked the house was, especially the kitchen. With several great cooks in our group it was really nice to find the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Thank you for a great stay! We hope to be back soon!

Summary: The house is in a quiet, safe neighborhood- all of Folly is safe. We most enjoyed the river views. The dock was nice for fishing, seeing sunsets and dolphins.The house is nice, decent. Needs some updating all around, but overall accommodations were good.

Summary: The house was so charming and provided plenty of space for our family of 6. It was well stocked and exceeded our needs. The owner reached out to ensure we were able to access the house upon our arrival. Upon entering, the home was beautifully decorated for the holiday and Christmas music was playing...this was a wonderful setting to start off our vacation. At the end of our 10 day stay, we found it hard to leave! We felt so at home! I would book this home again and highly recommend it.

Summary: First off, the place is amazing! You are alone with a view that takes your breathe away. The sense of calm and nature are serene. Miss Teresa was very helpful and checked in on us as well. Got to meet Mayor Tim walking his dog - it’s definitely where the locals live.

Summary: Our family had an amazing time over Labor Day weekend at the Sunset House. The sunsets over the water were truly breathtaking, and we spent every evening (and much of the day) enjoying the dock and the water, including paddleboarding (so easy to rent them at Charleston SUP Safaris and just paddle down to the house!) We had everything we could need for the weekend, and the house was very comfortable. So many beautiful spaces to relax in, both inside and out. The location is exceptional - close to downtown and the beach but so quiet, peaceful and private, even on a very busy weekend. We definitely hope to return!
