Summary: Allegro is worth the price. The service was great and the resort is kept spotless. I even enjoyed the fun day time activities by the pool. The Japanese is the best of the restaurants. Never tried the Italian due to previous reviews. The buffet is okay for dinner. One night was a no go but found something to eat, the other nights were just fine. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms are small but spend very little time in it. The beds are hard, which was a little uncomfortable. All in all, a great resort for the $250 a night rate.

Summary: This was a fabulous getaway for two. It was our first trip to Mexico and we didn’t know what to expect…the Allegro staff was extremely professional and prompt. We would definitely go again!

Summary: I like smaller resorts, this was perfect. I wasnt fighting for chairs at the beach or pool. It would have been nice to see sandwich making station for lunch at the buffets. Only saw it in the morning. All of the staff, including the groundkeepers, were so friendly! Had an issue with our keypad on our door and couldnt get in. Maintenance was there within 10 minutes.

Summary: The facility is outdated and in need of repairs and updating. Our ceiling fan worked at one speed and every day it became slower until one day it just didn't work. The rain came into the ceiling and closet area. The A/C did nothing to remove the humidity, I had to hang ALL of our clothes outside the day before packing to return as they were wet from the humidity. The food was subpar in the buffet, beef was unchewable, same choice every day and night. The Lasagna from the Italian specialty dining was cold upon serving, sent it back and the 4 people who chose it were trying to eat while the others were eating dessert. On the positive, Cerce the server on the beach and by the pool was superb, such a pleasant person and remembered everyone's drink of choice. (8 in our group as well as others on the beach) The drinks that were available were good, but lacking ingredients for some drinks that are readily available at other resorts. Julce and Erika at the spa were wonderful. The pools were nice, but one of the ladders in and out of the swimup bar pool was roped off the entire 10 days we were there, leaving one ladder in or out. There was a bit of a safety concern getting in and out. I'm surprised that the Barcelo" would not want to improve this resort as it is in a great location. My thoughts were 'lack of management, no one overseeing the dining areas and stepping into help the servers. They were all very dedicated and worked hard but were too busy to keep up some evenings.

Summary: The property was well maintained and the landscaping was beautiful (aside from a small area that appeared to have had buildings taken down as the foundations were still visible). It was easily walkable and there were always places to sit by the pool or on the beach. The staff and service were excellent. The only downside was the quality of food, lack of dinner reservation availability, and stiff beds. Otherwise it was a relaxing and enjoyable time.
