Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the the front one-bedroom unit. The place was clean, comfortable, cozy and well-equipped. It has a new Bosch clothes washer and a new 2 metre high Bosch fridge with a bottom freezer, a gas stove and oven, pots, pans, glasses for every occasion, washing powder, Saran Wrap, bags, a tea pot. Etc. All that you need for a comfortable long term stay in a self-catered flat. Michael, the owner, was responsive, thoughtful and kind. His neighbors, who know Michael, also were very helpful. it exceeded our expectations as it was better than the online pix suggested when we booked in December. The previous review was posted after we had been here two weeks and we did not recognize the place that the review described. There are no roaches. The place is very clean. The owner is understanding. We definitely plan to return here next time in Barbados. The best part about the stay is that you’re a 2 min walk to one of the best beaches in Barbados, Brighton Beach. We went everyday for a swim and then again in the evening to enjoy the amazing sunsets. The beach is sandy and the water is clear, blue and warm. When you dream about beautiful tropical beaches this is the one in your dreams. Another local attraction is The Hot Pot, a 5 min walk. There is a beach bar, Rascals, a 5 min walk down the road. A cute rum shop, June’s, is around the corner. She serves cold beer and food at prices that are about half Rascals. A large supermarket is 10 min walk.

Summary: Rooms not clean on arrival, cobwebs on dining table, kitchen work surfaces dusty & cobwebs inside cupboards on cutlery etc, had to be washed before use. Found large cockroach that jumped out of one of the kitchen cupboards on the first night we arrived, and found two smaller ones during our stay. Manager made it out like they came in because we may have left the doors open, which clearly was not the case as we had just arrived! Air-conditioning unit in living area did not work.Toilet would not flush without the tank constantly filling with water – Host arranged for a plumber to come the next day and fix it, but we had to stay at the apartment during the repairs. The soil pipe is not properly fixed; gaping holes with temporary stuffing to fill the gap but again allows for insects etc to come through. Small grey moths on all walls, deep clean needed. The roller blinds in the bedrooms were mouldy on arrival. Inbuilt mosquito guard on the windows had small holes in which insects could get through – so could not open the windows much. Most days we got lukewarm water at best to shower in, Big let down.Shower cubicle open at one end with no shower screen or curtain and so water escapes causing big puddles. Mould in the fridge/salad drawer. Bedroom door handle broken falls off the door. Electrics not working on arrival for the washing machine - did not always open after cycle finished & had to keep spinning the load to pray it would open! Many issues very disappointing stay.
