Agriturismo San Tommaso is located on a hill with a splendid view over the valley 2km from the small town of Pomarance near Volterra. The property has a sunny position from morning to evening and is located 30 km from the sea and in a central position with respect to the most important art cities such as Pisa, Siena, Florence and Lucca. In about 30 minutes you can reach Volterra, Massa Marittima, San Gimignano, the cellars of the most important wines of Tuscany and many other small medieval villages. Ideal for lovers of trekking, mountain biking and horse riding in the nearby convensioned riding school. At 3km the sources of the Cecina river with wonderful pools of water for swimming. On the property there are 2 houses with 3 apartments each. All apartments are very independent with their own private outdoor area with barbecue and parking space. The surrounding garden is very large and even children can run and play in the play area. There are large terraces equipped with a wonderful view over the valley and a fenced m16x m8 swimming pool with Jacuzzi and waterfall, surrounded by a large green lawn where each apartment has its own private shaded area with deck chairs and sun loungers. Breakfasts, tastings and dinners with local products are available on request.
The apartment Il Cipresso is about 65 sq m and is in the main house on the ground floor with a covered pergola and table at the entrance. In front of the garden and with stone barbecue. It has a private terrace with a beautiful panoramic view, table and deck chairs. Inside there is a living room kitchen of about 18 square meters, a double bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with 2 single beds that can be joined together, and a large bathroom with shower and bathtub. The surrounding fenced garden can be accessed from the remote controlled gate and you can park near the entrance. It has an independent air conditioning system in all rooms and central heating in all rooms. Spacious surrounding garden with playground, scenic walk and dining area.

Summary: Great weather, good location between many major sightseeing places in Tuscany, friendly owner of the property and of course the best food in the world, definitely a holiday worth repeating. If you have great weather and live outside continuously, you will not regret this, if you are stuck to the vacation home due to for instance bad weather, you may find the home a bit "empty" (no sofa's/loungechair, etc.), but that's probably not what one is plannign for when goign to Tuscany anyway.

Summary: We stayed in the villa S.Tommaso 1 week, and it is a very nice and clean appartment. The kitchen is very complete, and the appartment is really 5-stars! The garden in front is very nice, and our dog really liked it here. From this garden you have a beautiful view at the swimmingpool. Sergio is very helpfull, and friendly, and make the best pizzas!

Summary: We had a lovely time in Il Cipresso, relaxing in the apartment and driving to local towns to explore. Volterra and San Gimignano are not far and we also visited a beautiful sandy beach in San Vincenzo‎ which was just over an hours drive. For those with families (we had a 2 year old with us) there is a huge toddler friendly playground in the local town of Pomerance which is shady and has plenty to keep them entertained. It also has a local supermarket which stocks everything you need to self cater. No one locally spoke much English but it wasn't really a problem. Sergio hosted a pizza night on our final night where we met some of the other guests and could relax by our apartment. The only downside was that we stupidly forgot the mozzie repellant and although we got some in the chemist in town we got numerous bites on day one so make sure you pack it!

Summary: What a wonderful place to enjoy a holiday! A very warm welcome of Sergio and Nathalie. They also prepared a real italian dinner! Beautiful apartments, terrace with magnificent view, nice swimming pool and little playground for children. We enjoyed our 2 week stay and will return if possible!

Summary: This was our first trip to Tuscany and so we did not know what to expect. From the moment we got to San Tommaso 1km outside from Pomerance we knew we made the right choice. We were warmly received even though we arrived very late. Sergio and his wife were always super friendly. The view from the Terrace is breathtaking with grapes growing right there for us to pick and the 2 bedroom apartment with beautiful kitchen were clean, pretty and nicely furnished. The pool is bigger than we first thought from the pictures and prettier, even. The highlight was that Sergio, his wife and a friend had a party for the guests which apparently they do every week in the main season. The pizza and antipasti and wine from his own winery were fantastic and more than we could eat and drink.

Summary: We loved our time here in San Tomaso. We took our two kids ( one in a wheelchair) and stayed in Il Cipresso. We had such fantastic stay. Lovely views from the kitchen and terrace. The cottage was really well fitted and authentic. Sergio was incredibly kind and helpful. We enjoyed his olive oil and he even connected us with a friend who makes awesome rosso. We are leaving with a box of wine, olive oil and other tuscan goodies! The beaches, especially San Vincenzo were great and child friendly. Shallow water and small waves with good sand castle building sand. We also did other day trips to Pisa, San Gimignano and Vinci. These were a bit far because the drive is quite hilly and windy. But we enjoyed it thoroughly nonetheless. The wines in this valley were truly good and we will be back for sure.

Summary: We (a German family with two children aged 8 and 10 years) passed ten very restful days in this charming and very comfortable location. There are many lovable cats and two dogs, the children were mad about them. There is lots of space in the surroundings ideal for kids and privacy and relaxation for the adults as well. Everything functions perfectly and is tastefully decorated. The pool is perfect with a spacious lawn for sunbathing with enough deck chairs. You find a lot of different seatings in the huge garden. The owner, Sergio, is often around, but very discreet, and answered all our questions. Pomerance is a good starting point for a variety of different visits and activities, Volterra for example is only 15 min away. A car is highly recommended. In Pomerance (less than five minutes by car) you will find all sort of shops, so self-catering is no problem. And there is an excellent little restaurant in Montegemoli (3 km). We will certainly come back and thank Sergio for these marvelous holidays.
