Recently featured on HGTV's “Bahamas Life", "Entre-deux-Mers" (unit 2D at the Buttonwood Reserve Oceanfront Condominium Resort) offers a full-surround two-ocean view, facing west over the Caribbean for the sunset and east to the Atlantic for the sunrise. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room through the eight-foot glass sliders and six-foot bay windows in this spectacular luxury condo. The expansive private decks also feature spectacular sea views in every direction.
Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. All condominiums at Buttonwood come with access to a fleet of golf carts at no charge. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing.
Our resort-style pool is just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round. Near the pool is our grilling area, outfitted with propane grills for your use. Grill burgers while enjoying a relaxing day at the pool, or cook up the day's fresh catch from a fishing adventure.
We just completed a new pickleball court!
Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls).
The professionally decorated interior of this vacation rental is elegantly furnished, modern, warm and comfortable. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite, and equipped with everything you need to prepare meals. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see.
The master bedroom features a large upholstered window seat with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the sea. The master is furnished with a king bed, and luxury linens and is equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the deck over the Caribbean.
The guest bedroom also features a large window seat with a spectacular view, this one overlooking the Atlantic. The bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king. Additionally, the living room sofa pulls out to a comfortable queen-size bed.
Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided. Other amenities include AC throughout, ceiling fans, and superfast Starlink WIFI.
To ensure uninterrupted power, Buttonwood has a full solar array, back-up batteries to power the entire property, and a connection to the grid in case we ever need it.
Buttonwood Reserve is a 10 minute walk from three restaurants: Delish, Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, and Mel's Snack Shack.
Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has three grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and Kel D's sports bar. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb's famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed.
Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor's Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor's Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor.
Other restaurants in the area include Pascal's at boutique resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy's (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Buccaneer, The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night), the Front Porch, Hot Buns bakery and sandwich shop, and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop).

Summary: We had a great time in the condo with the Caribbean 100 yards away and the Atlantic Ocean side a 1000 yard the other way. The accommodations were very nice and clean. We had the assistance we needed from the host. Most of our time was spent exploring the island and the beaches but the time we did spend at the property was great. The island is less developed than other islands we have been to. It is lacking in nice restaurants and grocery stores but the isolated beaches and water were amazing. We ended up make most of our meals back at the condo. We did make a trip to Harbor island one day and enjoyed the nicer restaurants and the Pink Sand Beach.

The accommodations were great for our large group - the main lodge provided enough room for our large group time and meals. Matt, Brett, and the entire team were super responsive. Each bedroom had a reading nook in the windows which was a definite winner for our readers. Two patios (one on either side of the unit) allowed for enjoyable morning coffee overlooking the Atlantic and refreshing drinks in the afternoon overlooking the Caribbean. I did like that each room had its own A/C unit so that we were able to conserve electricity. The unit had a good variety of utensils and cookware which made breakfasts easy.Each unit has a golf cart so we were able to cart down to the Atlantic (and saw the recently finished pickleball court = bring your own paddles). The Atlantic side beach has a good amount of sand and very private. The swimming pool looked great.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our group of 30+ rented 7 of 8 condo units at Buttonwood for our daughter's destination wedding. Another couple rented the last condo. They were very nice and we only ran into them a few times. We had a magical week! We rented the main lodge and had several meals catered in as well as hosting the wedding reception there. The condos were very nice and as described. The views could not be beat! When issues came up management was quick to respond and went out of their way to assist us with any requests. We enjoyed the pool which was at the perfect temperature to relax. The pickleball court is awesome and our group had several fun sessions using it. There is a nice shade pergola for those that just want to spectate. Some of the golf carts were in need of some TLC and battery replacement? A few times we ran out of juice at the beach a half mile away. The kayaks may also need some repair, while out on the water a couple of them were taking on water and had to go back to shore. We flew into North ELA which is 45 minutes from the condo. Would not have been a problem but we had to do several trips as family members arrived and departed at different days. Looking back we would have come into Governors Harbor for a bit more $. All in all, we picked a winner in Buttonwood and had a wonderful week with friends and family!
