"Serenity" Vistas (unit 1B at the Buttonwood Reserve Oceanfront Condominium Resort) is a bottom-floor unit, that includes a full-surround two-ocean view, facing west over the Caribbean for the sunset and east to the Atlantic for the sunrise. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room through eight-foot glass sliders and six-foot bay windows. The expansive private decks also feature spectacular sea views in every direction.
Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. All condominiums at Buttonwood come with access to a fleet of golf carts at no charge. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing.
Our resort-style pool is just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round.
We just completed a new pickleball court!
Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls).
The professionally decorated interior of this vacation rental is elegantly furnished, modern, warm and comfortable. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see.
The master bedroom is features a large upholstered window seat with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the sea. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the deck over the Caribbean.
The guest bedroom also features a large window seat with a spectacular view, this one overlooking the Atlantic. The bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king.
Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided for riding around the property or to town, less than a mile away. Our retired groundskeeper, Patrick, is an expert fisherman and will take you out fishing in his boat for a half day or full day (extra charges apply.) Grill your catch fresh on our outdoor gas grill near the pool. Other amenities include AC throughout, ceiling fans, and superfast Starlink WIFI.
To ensure uninterrupted power, Buttonwood has a full solar array, back-up batteries to power the entire property, and a connection to the grid in case we ever need it.
Buttonwood Reserve is a 10 minute walk from three restaurants: Delish, Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, and Mel's Snack Shack.
Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has three grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and Kel D's sports bar. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb's famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed.
Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor's Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor's Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor.
Other restaurants in the area include Pascal's at boutique resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy's (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Buccaneer, The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night), the Front Porch, Hot Buns bakery and sandwich shop, and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop).
Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly.

The golf carts were all charged, there were enough chairs and beach umbrellas for all. We loved the music night at Lenrose on Thursday. It was a little more remote than we thought it would be, not understanding the travel time on the Queen's Highway.

The house - Very comfortable and well appointed with incredible sea views. The Starlink highspeed Internet was blazing fast for us to work remotely and enjoy Netflix. We had a few very minor issues that Brett the property manager took care of immediately. Brett is an amazing person and resource giving us valuable insights from car rentals, grocery stores, restaurants and sightseeing. The golf carts are a great addition to ferry back and forth from the incredible Atlantic beach. The brand new pickleball court looks great. The sand and water!Buttonwood is centrally located on the island, so it's a convenient spot to explore all that Eluthera has to offer.

They even retrieved and opened a fresh coconut for me!The only "complaint" I have is the condition and working order of the golf carts. The first cart we used had no working brakes and the second cart died on the trail to the Atlantic beach. but overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

We spent more time exploring the many nearby beaches and also took a boating tour with Captain Kid and Son, which was a highlight of the trip. Our favorite nearby beach was Gaulding Cay. Buttonwood is the perfect mid-island location for exploring all the wonders of Eleuthera. There are so many beautiful things to see, and it was perfect to come home to a comfortable, well-appointed condo in the evenings. I can't recommend Buttonwood enough!

Reviewer Comments: Eluethera Vacation Rentals offered amazing service and support prior to our family vacation in Buttonwoods. They could not have been more helpful. The materials and Welcome Letter were extremely useful and a good resource for the island of Eleuthera. The onsite property manager was also very service oriented.The beach was absolutely beautiful and very private, complete with a shipwreck to view. Having access to the gulf carts made it easy (and fun!) to haul all the young children and sand toys to the beach. (A bonus was all the beach toys and beach chairs stowed on site which was all available for use.)Overall, there were some issues with maintenance, which the onsite property manager attempted to address in a timely manner. One issue was the electrical circuits, which interrupted sleep at night. Every time the upstairs guest turned on their fans, the fans and lights in the downstairs unit automatically came on. If guests have different sleep schedules, the lights and fans coming on at various hours during the night can be disturbing. The frequent but usually short nocturnal power outages also interrupted sleep, not because of loss of electricity per se, but due to the noise created. Every time the power went out, the loss of electricity stimulated the safety alarm system which was stimulated again when the power came back on, resulting in being woken up by the flashing lights and alarms during the noturnal power outages.Finally, as noted in the property brochure, beware of the No-see-ums, as they present a lasting itchy memory of the time in Eleuthera! Question: Would we come back? Absolutely!!!
