Positive: The best location for exploring the Dordogne. A beautiful small village close by the river. The apartment is very comfortable and private with a terrace courtyard. We were grateful for the good communication with host Frederique, who gave many local recommendations that we explored, and we will always remember Martine the housekeeper who was very endearing.

Positive: White runner roses in full bloom greeted me from across the sun-filled deck as glimpses of the river below shone between the leaves. All you would expect from the Middle Ages is in this two-bedroom apartment in the old part of Beynac. Enjoy!
Negative: This is an apartment for young lovers, not a grumpy 83-year-old with stairs problems.
Summary: A medieval experience - live as they did centuries ago!

Positive: It’s a sweet place in the heart of Beynac-et-Cazenac. We had everything we needed. Our host, Frederique, was very helpful, via WhatsApp, and the onsite housekeeper, Martine, was on time to meet us, very nice. Martine did not speak any English but we had enough French between us to understand her. She showed us to the apartment and is a very cheerful person. Martine also booked us in to a restaurant her daughter works in, also very nice. The setting of the apartment is phenomenal. The view from the terrace looks up the Dordogne. Spectacular. It’s a strenuous walk up to Chateau Beynac but a highlight of our holiday.
Negative: It isn’t a criticism as the accommodation is in a very specific location but it is not a place to stay if you are unfit or have mobility issues. You need to be able to pull/carry any baggage, or shopping, up a very steep cobbled path for at least 80-100metres. The path was a little slippery post rain. Having said that, we are fitter for 7 days of going up and down! 😀

Positive: The cottage was perfect in every way, excellent location right in the heart of Baynac, very well presented with everything needed for the stay provided. Our host Frederique was really helpful always available on WhatsApp to give any advice we needed. Martine met us with the key exactly as planned and she was so friendly and helpful, preparing the property perfectly for our arrival and even sorting out a car parking ticket for the week for us.
