The BABY DUCK is a beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, located off a quiet street, near Ocracoke's historic lighthouse.
With its 1920's Bungalow Style Architecture, 9 ft ceilings, hardwood floors, bead board paneling and crystal doorknobs, it is clear that this house is special. Decorated perfectly with local photography and antique treasures, this custom built home features an open living and dining area, well equipped kitchen, sundeck, and screened porch. In addition, the jacuzzi bathtub, flat screen TV, DVD player, laundry, outdoor shower, charcoal grill, fish bench and WiFi access provide exceptional comfort during your stay.
The first floor has a peaceful queen master bedroom with a private attached bathroom. The sunny queen guest bedroom has an easily accessible bathroom just around the corner. The upstairs is the answer to a child's imagination, offering twin beds, a sitting area complete with a second TV, DVD player, and the perfect view for spying a pirate ship gliding across the Pamlico Sound. This home is perfect for a romantic getaway, two couples, or a family. The screened porch and decks allow for views of the marsh, quiet time in a rocking chair or a nap on the daybed while you enjoy the afternoon breeze.
The BABY DUCK is conveniently located on the island within easy walking distance to the Ocracoke Lighthouse and Springers Point nature preserve. It is minutes away by foot or by bike to Silver Lake Harbor, restaurants and shopping. All 13 miles of oceanfront on Ocracoke Island are undeveloped — not a building in sight, just miles of clean, open, white sand beaches. This most beautiful beach can be accessed by bicycle or vehicle and has convenient parking, boardwalk, and summer lifeguards. With a 4 wheel drive vehicle and proper permit, you can drive on the beach with all of your essentials and find a private spot to call your own.
We love our home and have planned every detail to make your vacation relaxing and fun. To ensure that the BABY DUCK is always in tip-top shape, a cleaning/damage deposit is included with your rental rate. Summary: Very clean, plenty of room. The house is close to restaurants and shops. We rented bikes and were able to bike to almost everything. We really enjoyed our stay!

Summary: Charming and beautifully appointed, Baby Duck is one of the nicest & definitely the cleanest house our family has ever rented; anywhere! The screened porch is even nicer than depicted, with a large daybed and the sounds of waves coming through the marshes. While tucked within a group of family owned cottages, there is a complete respect for privacy & even a sense of solitude about Baby Duck. Five plus stars.

Summary: We decided to leave a day early because the Outer Banks was closing down to tourists (due to COvid-19), but the place was great. Clean, well-stocked utensils, cookware, etc in the kitchen and good location on the island.

Summary: There is so much about Ocracoke that we love--the small, non-commercialized village, the miles of undeveloped beaches, riding bicycles everywhere...especially to Ocracoke Coffee Co. But Baby Duck was the icing on the cake. Spending a blustery, rainy afternoon inside was just as much fun as our sunny days outside. A few of our favorite things about Baby Duck--breakfast on the screened-in porch, the children's loft (complete with sitting area and TV/DVD), the outdoor shower and fish cleaning sink, the fully-equipped kitchen, and the quiet location with a view of the lighthouse. I really can't think of a way to make this house better.
