Summary: We loved everything about this place. The house is beautifully designed and set in the desert, it has a great connection with its surroundings.The interior is uplifting with stunning views, comfortable furniture and the colour palette of the south-west. We enjoyed the light coming through the windows and doors, the stillness and continuity of the sky and landscape. We won’t forget our first day walking down the arroyo to Abiquiu Lake. What a sense of silence, solitude, and beauty! We adored the Chama River and Ghost Ranch canyon, red rock cliffs and the smell of sage while hiking Kitchen Mesa. Miro bought some hand-picked eggs from the monks instead of tasting their beer. The Monastery Brewery was closed five years ago. Our trips to Chaco Canyon, Santa Fe and Taos Pueblo were great experience.John is an exceptional host, caring very much for his visitors and his house.Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!Miro and Dagmar

Summary: This casita offers beautiful scenery, isolation and a peacefulness that is hard to come by nowadays. The views of Lake Abiquiu and the Ghost ranch are unmatched. All rooms have expansive windows that allow one to sit and enjoy. The casita is well stocked with more than ample dishes and spices. If one is looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, this is definitely the place. It was very clean and well furnished with a very well maintained gravel/rock road.

Summary: Very nicely done home with spectacular views of Chama Valley and Abiquiu Lake. A bit of a drive from town, but if you seek isolation in a wide open natural setting, this is the place. Comfortable beds, great kitchen, just one bathroom, but very nice shower. Host is very responsive.
