Summary: The house is situated in a beautiful farm area. We got to see the lake, beautiful gardens, birds, goats and so much nature. We were provided plantains, eggs, and cucumbers from the farm. Josh was an amazing and kind host. He had great recommendations for renting ATVs which are brought to the property and also for the best pizza in town. There is a great outdoor shower. The house also has a lovely wrap around deck with lots of hammocks. We had a lovely time. Everyone on the property was super nice.

Summary: My wife and I stayed at Finca Ometepe for 8 days in December and January. It's a genuinely beautiful location. The management and staff (and dogs) at the farm are friendly and helpful. The kitchen is well-equipped and everything worked. The beds are comfortable and the furniture, linens and towels are all in good shape. It's very clean. The AC in the master bedroom works well and keeps that room nice and cool in the evenings. Internet access is stable, and honestly faster than I expected - we even made a few video calls from the farm and the lag wasn't bad at all. The view from the large balcony is wonderful, and we spent most of our time out there admiring the scenery, wildlife, and the farm. I communicated with the property manager Josh mostly via Whatsapp, and he responded very quickly anytime we had a question or problem - and there weren't many problems. Josh is also a good resource for restaurant suggestions and cool things to see and do on the island. Keep in mind that Finca Ometepe is a working farm - I think they cover that pretty well in the description. If you're looking for complete solitude and privacy, this isn't the place. The staff is always working on something during the day, managing the animals or tending to all the plants. They are unobtrusive and they respect your privacy so it won't bother you, and honestly it's very cool to watch, ask questions, and learn what they're doing. It's a good location to use as a base for exploring the island - easy to get to and easy to find, even at night. There are lots of signs to help you find the place. I especially appreciated that the staff made the letters on the sign at the entrance reflective, so they show up well in your headlights. That's the kind of little detail that helps a lot. I was also impressed by the solar power system. The farm is 'on the grid' in the sense that they are hooked up to power from island's utility company, but that goes out pretty frequently for an hour or two. The solar power system is so good that I usually didn't notice at all when the utility power went out. The only thing that changes is that you won't have hot water in the shower until it comes back on, because the in-line hot water heater draws more juice than the solar system can provide. We'll definitely be going back to Ometepe, and Finca Ometepe is where we'll stay when we do.

Summary: We had a great stay at this house! The property manager Josue was very attentive and was able to give us great suggestions for nearby tours and food options. But if you decide not to go and explore too much, the house has plenty of space and quietness to relax and take in the calming sounds of the farm.

Summary: 2 friends and I came for the Fuego y Agua trail run and this place was wonderful. Hanna was super responsive to questions and moved bookings around to accommodate our families ( who unfortunately couldn’t come at the last minute). The whole property is amazing and tucked off the toad as the volcano begins to rise so you have a great view of the lake and the cool wind keeps it super comfortable on the large porch in the mornings and evenings while we were there. The first night we pulled in late and they welcomed us to join them for some pizza from the cob oven made with vegetables and goat cheese from the farm. They were wonderful hosts and super interesting to talk to and find out all about their adventure in setting up the eco farm. The large house had 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a really nice shower and a spacious kitchen. A large wrap around couch had a pull out bed we planned to use for the kids but didn’t need this trip. The patio has several rocking chairs and a large dining table that was great for just relaxing at the end of the day. Wifi was great for uploading pics from the race afterwards and even had some of the fresh bananas and passion fruit from the farm waiting for us when we arrived. There aren’t many addresses on the island so much as directions, but there were 2 noticeable signs at each of the key points we needed to turn at so found it easily on the first try. Definitely looking to bring the family back for a second round trip so they can experience the goats and see the farm, and even the converted old school bus driven down from Alaska! This place is great if you’re looking to enjoy an already amazing island and relax in a truly serene setting amongst nature.
