It is comfortably furnished for a restful and relaxing stay. There are two roomy bedrooms and one shared bath. Enjoy the sunrise from the timber frame patio, rock on the front porch, immerse yourself in a good book, or simply sit quietly and enjoy watching the wildlife. Spend some time cooking in the well-stocked kitchen or dine out and enjoy the local flavors! And, after a day of enjoying the historical area, soak your cares away in the spa or kick your feet up by the fire pit. If you feel like exploring, there are several easy walking trails through the surrounding forest and along the streams.
Bella Vista is located within minutes of the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park and other historical landmarks. We are 20 minutes from Holliday Lake State Park which offers hiking trails, swimming, boating, and fishing. We are 30 minutes from the beautiful city of Lynchburg, home of Liberty University. We are also 30 minutes from the lovely town of Farmville, home of Longwood University, Hampden-Sydney College, Green Front Furniture, the High Bridge Trail State Park, and The Fishin' Pig, the best barbeque in Virginia!

Summary: So glad we stayed at Bella Vista…we should have stayed longer! Absolute privacy with gorgeous setting and the cleanliness of the home were excellent! Enjoyed the hot tub, playing corn hole, the fire pit and just relaxing. Donna was very good with communication. You will love it here!

Summary: Wonderful time in the country watching deer come up to property. The beds and recliners were great! Plenty to do in about Civil War history. Liberty University is close. But most of all a peaceful stay. We wish we could of stayed longer. Host made everything very special!

Summary: Bella Vista is a beautiful well maintained retreat in an isolated area. It is every thing as advertised. The beds & couch were especially comfortable. Linens, towels, kitchen utensils and spices were in abundance. Donna was very responsive to all questions. We didn’t get to use the hot tub due to health issues but enjoyed cooking on the grill. While the patio was very comfortable, our favorite place for happy hour was the rocking chairs on the front porch. A large doe checked us out for about 15 minutes at the top of the driveway on the day of our arrival. The cabin, having no stairs, would be perfect for seniors if there were grab bars in the shower. The area is rich in Civil War history and surrounding towns have some interesting shops and restaurants. However relaxing and grilling at the house was our favorite!

Summary: This was the perfect quick trip getaway with our 2 yr old daughter for a long weekend. Calming, relaxing, fully stocked property was amazing! If you think the pictures look great, it looks 1 million times better in person! The layout, porches, hot tub, fire pit area, huge yard, creek, made it the perfect place to get away and unwind. There's nothing to think about, just book it. I have already booked again for our wedding anniversary. <3
