Positive: This is a clean, simple and quiet place to stay. It includes a small sitting room with a kitchen plus two small bedrooms and an up-to-date bathroom.. The mattress in the front bedroom was wonderful - the mattress in the back bedroom has a valley in it and should be replaced.

Negative: My big gripe is with Vacasa, the intermediary with which any booking.com customer must sign a separate contract. How to do this took a while and a bit of stress to figure out. Then followed a cascade of emails, starting a month before my arrival and continuing even now that I have left. In the future I will avoid booking with Vacasa-managed properties - they really need to get their communications under control.

Summary: Good value for price but Vacasa property manager was a pain

Positive: This property was pretty cut and dry. No hosts on site, and communication was all automated. That said, we had no issues booking last minute and getting into the property upon arrival. And the unit was obviously cleaned right after the last booking to accommodate last minute bookings like ours. The unit is pretty well stocked with all the major items one would need while renting a house - plenty of dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc. And the large screen TV allows you to log into your streaming accounts to watch shows. There isn't a lot in the area - e.g. restaurants, grocery stores, parks, etc. So we had to travel for everything. We knew that ahead of time and planned accordingly. And there are a few parks not too far away (about a 10 minute drive). The place was very dog friendly for our small dog, including a specified dog bed. We didn't try to get in the backyard, so not sure if that was an option. But the street is very residential and safe to walk our dog on. And there clearly are other dogs in the neighborhood that he enjoyed finding their scents on our walks! Overall, this met our needs and expectations well. No complaints!

Negative: It is always a bit confusing when a platform lists their lodging on a different platform. In this case, the property is owned and run by Vacasa, and we could have booked the property there - but I don't have an account there and I find Booking easier to book last minute. Vacasa is a pretty large company and when I rent a house I prefer to rent right from the owner. It likely would have felt more personable if the owner messaged us during our stay, versus the automated Vacasa messages. But there was a lot more positives than negatives, and I would definitely stay at this property again.

Summary: Everything was clean and taken care of for a great last minute weekend on Whidbey

Positive: we got there a little late. its on an island and we forgot you cant get dinner anywhere.they had a hello fresh box waiting for us. that was the best part. so nice. really thoughtfull. it totaley made up for the not being onthe beach.

Negative: we were under the impression that its on a beach. its not. its really close to a beach. but it was nice.
