Positive: Guesthouse staff assisted booking tours and got us a better deal than we could get directly from agents. Great communication Good Hot water in bathroom. Shampoo and body wash supplied. Coffee and kettle supplied in room Air conditioning was nice and cold. Also a pedestal fan in room which was a bonus Lodge is in a quiet area ( just the usual roosters and dogs which is normal for Philippines ) Approx 10 minute walk to main area of town so no need for tricycles or tuktuks
Negative: I don’t often give very negative reviews but I feel the reviews for this place didn’t reflect our experience at all. We are budget travellers and are backpacking but this place is not worthy of a high rating for the price paid. As a family of five we booked a second room as to have a mattress on the floor of quad room we were quoted 800P per night which far exceeded anywhere else we stayed previously. We have been travelling in the Philippines for 4 weeks already. Both our rooms were old and tired. We stayed on the top floor in rooms 5 ( quad room with private bathroom ) & 6 ( twin room shared bath room ) . Room 5 , paint peeling off walls, floor not clean especially under the beds, mattresses very thin and only one of the four beds had no end on it so tall people can’t lie straight. Could not stand up in toilet as roof to low, light in bathroom surges when hot water is running. Hinges sagging on front door making it hard to open and close. Shared bathroom , reported light wasn’t working on first day and still not fixed 3 days later despite asking daily. There was a water dispenser on 3rd floor and kitchen area for guests use but despite daily requests these remained empty. Would not recommend staying in the room we had if you are average height or taller. Maybe rooms on lower floors are better?
