Welcome to beautiful Matunuck! This is quintessential New England at it's best. Our cottage is in the heart of the community, directly across the street from the ocean, and only a few minutes walk to the beaches.
Sit on the new deck and hear the ferry and feel the ocean breeze. We are located right on Matunuck Beach Rd, and a short walk to pizza, the village grocery, surf shop, The Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (a RI staple), Tara's Pub, and The Ocean Mist (voted best beach bar in the US!) A mile away is Theater by the Sea, which is a wonderful summer theater.
We are located minutes from Narragansett, 20 minutes to Newport, and 35 minutes from Providence.
Our home is fully equipped, just bring your linens and towels. there are 3 bedrooms upstairs: 1 queen, 1 full, and 1 single with a trundle underneath. We also have an enclosed sun porch with a full-sized futon. Our bathroom has just been fully remodeled and includes a new front-loader washer and dryer. The bathroom is on the main floor. There are ocean views from the sun porch and the 2nd floor bedrooms - you can see all the way to Block Island on clear days.
We offer a beach cart to make the short walk to the sand even easier. There are 2 beaches to choose from: Turn left outside the front door and in 3 minutes you will be on Deep Hole beach - a favorite of board and kite surfers. Turn right at the front door and after a 5-7 minute walk you are on Matunuck (or South Kingstown) Beach. This sandy beach has big waves, a snack bar, showers, and a playground.

Summary: Had a great week - my 9 year old was so sad to leave...super comfy for us, lots of nice seating inside and out, great kitchen with all of the amenities and more, great new bathroom (washer dryer was a huge plus), so nice to be able to amble down to Matunuck, or over to Deep Hole to watch the moonrise, and bonus access a little further to E. Matunuck. We're Point Judith people, hesitant to try the other side of the pond - and as a native Rhode Islander was a little nervous to be so close to the famed Ocean Mist, but other than some turnaround traffic on Sat night, a super peaceful spot...happy beachy folks walking their dogs in the am...We're already missing it -

Summary: This beach house provided the perfect beach getaway for our family! The location is so close to the ocean as well as restaurants and pubs. Ellen was an excellent host as well, very attentive and easy to communicate with. We will definitely return in the future!

Summary: My friends and I have an incredible week at this house. The communication with Ellen started a couple of hours before we were due to check in. She knew of a sink that was plugged and had it fixed immediately. The house was a 7 minute walk to the beach which made it perfect!!

Summary: Cottage was cozy, clean and a great location. We loved that there was a nice big deck. Small grass area for kids to play outside and an Easy walk to the beach, ice cream and a few restaurants/ bars. South Kingston beach was easily handicapped accessible for when my mom came to visit for the day they even offered her a handicapped wheelchair (no charge) so we could wheel her down to the water. First time she was able to go into the water in years. We really enjoyed our stay. Ellen was a pleasure to speak with and answered any concerns I had before booking and even during our stay. Would love to book again next summer 😁

Summary: This was the perfect spot for our beach getaway! Plenty of room for our family of 5. Short walk to a couple beaches, and a quick bike ride to a couple more if you're feeling adventurous. Full kitchen with everything you could need to prepare meals, and a few spots within walking distance when you don't feel like cooking. Having a washer & dryer was key for those sandy beach days! We all had an awesome time, would stay here again.

Summary: This is the second year I am renting this cottage. Ellen makes it easy for you--toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing liquid and dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent and washing needs, as well as some spices, garbage bags and other kitchen bags are provided. You don't get this at other rentals that ask you to bring your entire house with you. Obviously, you have to bring your own linens and towels with you which is stated in the listing. The kitchen is very well stocked for all cooking needs and there is a huge grill on the huge deck. I appreciated that there was an A/C downstairs as well as in each of the upstairs bedrooms during the extreme heat wave and humidity we experienced this summer. Other reviewers have commented the bedrooms are small--so what? They are more than adequate with comfortable beds considering one will be out most of the day. The downstairs living area and eat in kitchen are very spacious, with games and books in the downstairs cabinet in the book/display case. Travelers with physical difficulties should be aware that there are stairs to climb to get to the bedrooms and they are steep and narrow and the bannister does not come all the way down to the bottom step. The cottage is in a great location to walk to the South Kingstown town beach, to local pub and pizza shop which has incredible salads and sandwiches ( decent pizza) and 8 minute drive to East Matunuck State Beach and the Matunuck Oyster Bar. Ellen is a pleasure to deal with. I'll be back!

Summary: The cottage is exactly as described. The location is fantastic and is within walking distance of both South Kingstown Town Beach and East Matunuck State Beach. It’s just a short drive to some fantastic restaurants. Both Narragansett and Newport are also just a short drive away and offer plenty of things to do for the whole family.

Summary: We enjoyed our week at the beach house! The house had everything we were looking for with plenty of kitchen and family room space and very nice bathroom. The deck has a great space with large dining table and grill. The ocean breeze was fantastic! If you need to escape to cooler temperatures the family room and bedrooms were all air conditioned such a plus. The house is in a perfect location, walking distance to the beach, bars, ice cream and a great little market. Lastly, I mostly enjoyed the peacefulness ! Thank you Ellen look forward to booking next year.
