We are renting our beach house in Matunuck, Rhode Island โ€“ a quiet, family-oriented beach community with the ultimate โ€œbeach vibesโ€ that is less than 10 mins walking from beach!
The house is a spacious and bright 4 BR, 2.5 Bath house plus outdoor shower (sleeps 9), is great for 1 or 2 families. It has a living room, dining room, family room, and finished basement. The amenities include: A/C, Wi-Fi, 3 smart TVs, very large washer & dryer, charcoal grill, outdoor shower, huge backyard perfect for kids and lawn games, large outdoor patio for dining, or enjoying that morning coffee or evening glass of wine.
The house is less than a 10-minute walk from South Kingstown beach (.5 miles), which has a childrenโ€™s playground, bathrooms, and outdoor showers. Also within walking distance are Seaview Market and Carpenterโ€™s Farm Stand which should provide you with ample groceries without having to venture into nearby Wakefield. Less than a 15-minute walk gets you to the Ocean Mist Beach Bar, a surf bar thatโ€™s literally in the water, with great food and live music. Next door is another more low-key bar/restaurant โ€œThe Pubโ€, and Matunuck Pizza Pie Co across the street, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Shop is also nearby. Lastly, nearby youโ€™ll find Theatre by the Sea, a beach barn with off-Broadway shows playing throughout the summer. Matunuck is a place where you can arrive and not touch your car keys until you leave, and the beach and all the things you need are just a stones throw away. If you do want to venture out, Newport is just a quick 30-minute drive.

Summary: We loved that the house was walkable to beach and icecream shop. Lots of spaces for different seating inside and outside. Though a few plumbing issues, hosts came right away and fixed things. The kitchen could use a roll away island for more counter space, but it was big.

Summary: The house is very comfortable and very well stocked with everything you need. The floor plan of the house worked exceedingly well for our 4 adults and 3 kids given two separate main floor living room areas and another one in the basement level and 3 televisions (one in each living room area). Everything worked great. And the house is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood that is an easy and short walk to the beach and short drives to markets and wonderful restaurants and other things. To top it off, the owner/host is extremely helpful at every turn, and always available to answer any questions or provide helpful advice. In short, we could not be more pleased with how our stay here went.

Summary: Great house, very clean and had everything you need including an expresso maker. We walked to beach. Some of them, not me were on a 10,000 step plan. I made it one day lol. Great yard for corn hole and other games, let us use garage to store the surf boards. Great restaurants nearby and a trip into Newport on a cloudy day. Will definately return.

Summary: We enjoy our stay in this spacious and comfortable house with many amenities provided. A safe and friendly neighborhood close to the beach, local farm, grocery store, Theatre By The Sea, church, etc. The great location allows for day trips to Newport, Jamestown, Wakefield, and more. We highly recommended it and hope to be back!

Summary: Spacious home in a well kept neighborhood. A nice private yard. The owner lives near by and handles matters promptly. It was well suited for our family. I was impressed with all that was provided. It was a well stocked kitchen and a shed full of chairs and charcoal. We would certainly go to this house again.

Summary: We stayed at this Matunuck house for a week in August with one other family. The home was perfect to share between the two families, situated in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of space for everyone, a large private back yard, nice amenities including beach chairs, a shed for storage, outdoor seating, and a grill. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to South Kingstown town beach (shorter if you don't have beach gear and small children with you!) and a short drive to many surrounding beaches, restaurants, and stores. The owner was very communicative and provided lots of helpful recommendations about the surrounding area. We had a wonderful week here!
