Summary: My husband and I did thoroughly enjoy the peace and tranquility of our time away at this cottage. The same can be true for anyone who stays here! However, in the interest of full honesty, I feel that I have to mention that the listing is not up to date. There is a change in host - it is no longer Rebecca. The charming days of this cottage are past. It's still very doable, but it's now an older cottage, and the grounds are starting to be neglected. The internet was so weak that it was nonexistent; thus, the TV did not work. Communication was not very good: host cannot be reached by phone; after wondering and worrying about how we were going to get in (the door was left open for us), the host emailed a day later to tell us the door would be open.

Summary: This property was amazing. 10 acres of woods with a large private lake. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet and relaxation. There are lots of small towns nearby that are fun to explore. The host family were so kind and personable. Thank you!

Summary: I contacted host prior to renting, asked if wifi works. I had my 87 year old dad with me. Phone reception very spotty there. I was not pleased. I asked her why it wasn’t working, she said there is nothing they can do. Cable people showed up while I was at work, and the only internet we had was being shared from another, 1mbps. No tv to watch, and black army Ants everywhere. The floor in the bathroom is collapsing. Toilet is not secured to floor. All boards on porch are bowed and lifted, and dangerous. I paid a lot hoping my dad would have fun. I may stop renting houses, and do extended stay..

Summary: We chose this place for our 10th-anniversary getaway based on the reviews and photos. We never met or talked to Don or Rebecca, the hosts mentioned in the reviews. All our communication was with "Stacy," suggesting a possible transition in property management or ownership. While we expected a romantic getaway, the property was disappointing. The photos showed beautiful grounds with a clear view of the lake, but there was organic debris everywhere, including the steps, walkways, and deck. The lake view was blocked significantly by overgrowth, unlike in the photos. We noticed other structures on the property were falling apart, some likely once housing poultry mentioned in earlier reviews. Inside, the cottage was beautifully decorated and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the four-season room was our favorite. We also discovered there was no WiFi, contrary to the listing, which was a big deal for us. We plugged in the modem, but the password didn’t work. Additionally, we had no phone service (Verizon), rendering our iPhone hotspots useless. This impacted us in several ways: we couldn’t monitor our pets at home, work remotely, stay updated with news or sports, or use the TV. We had to go into town to use WiFi. We messaged Stacy twice about the issue but didn’t hear back until the last night of our stay. By then, it didn’t matter since we were leaving the next morning. We hope this place can be restored to the fantastic getaway it once was. The potential is there.

Summary: We had a wonderful 5 day vacation at this cottage. My husband was so excited about the fishing. The bass were hungry. He caught 9!!!! We enjoyed our stay.

Summary: This cottage is a very special place. It has magical qualities. It’s perfect for the couple that wants to get away and have quiet time together. We so enjoyed our time together at the cottage. We had a sunny day and a rainy day. It was a slow, quiet rain perfect for staying in or a short walk. It was nice to experience both. There are so many things to do that there is no reason to get bored. We grilled out one night and then drove into Albion for dinner on the second night. Albion is within a 10 minute drive. A very nice little town. This is actually my second’s visit to the cottage, and I cannot wait to visit again! Next visit is to see the snow on the trees and the ground. I can only imagine how beautiful it’s going to be! The hostess is so kind and has everything just perfect for you!

Summary: My mom and I had a wonderful time there celebrating her 70th Birthday! We relaxed, took in the scenery, entertained some family. Rebecca and Don were awesome hosts. We will definitely book again.
