A fabulous listing with 360 panoramic of Parua Bay, Mount Manaia, the harbour and the Pacific Ocean in the backdrop.
The entire property is completely private, set on over 40 acres, reserved bush valleys and forest walks.
The Guest Accommodation (150 sqm) is completely self-contained, separate and set adjacent from the historic villa, Bourne House (circa 1900). Bourne House is currently occupied by Andy and Lesley, they can assist with any queries you have while staying in the Guest Accommodation.
You'll awake to the sounds of wild birds while you relax and unwind in the outdoor living space, garden or simply take a dip in the solar heated pool which can get quite warm during the summer months ( weather dependent ) The pool has the latest UV sanitising system.
The pool will be available for use from the 1st November until the 31st April.
A spa pool located in the pool area with views of the bay. It's available for use all year round.
The living space is self-contained with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, with large open dinning and lounge areas that look out onto the pool with breath-taking views. The entire living space and the main bedroom have bi-fold doors ensuring that all views are uninterrupted.
The Guest Accommodation also has a laundry room, a BBQ space and includes outdoor furniture, dinning, Wi-Fi and music appliances with Bluetooth.
On request a Welcome Package will be provided for arriving guests.
Towels, pool towels and linens are provided.

Bourne House Retreat is situated within minutes of the beach, ideal for swimming, snorkelling, water sports and fishing.
There is ample secure parking, turning space and storage on the Bourne House Retreat site with the public boat ramp just down the road.
Whangarei Heads has some of the best fishing nationally within easy reach of the Hen & Chicken Islands.
Ocean Beach is also a 30 minute drive for the surf, mountain and leisurely walks to suit all.
Hard surfaced public tennis courts and The Pines Golf Course are situated a door step away.
Local shops, restaurants, tavern, cafes within minutes.
Whangarei Airport is a short 5km drive and the Town Basin and Marina of Whangarei are 12km away.

Summary: We spent 3 nights here and only wish we could have extended our stay. Incredible views from the mountain top property, along with lovely spacious living spaces and pool side areas. Lesley and Andy were welcoming and wonderful hosts.We highly recommend staying here.

Summary: This property has a terrific scenic view and well located just outside of Whangarei. As importantly, our host and hostess were absolutely lovely and made our stay in a slightly shared property (ie the pool and hot tub) exceedingly warm and comfortable. Our only criticism is that the location was too steep for us to take walks from the home. However, we had great walks in the area.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at the Bourne House. The history of how it came to Whangerei was very interesting. Accommodations were excellent, extremely spacious. It was a bonus to have a pool and hot tub and they were both very nice. Views were hard to beat (and we had seen plenty of good views after 3 weeks in NZ). Andy and Leslie were wonderful hosts and very helpful in telling us about things to see in the area. Would highly recommend staying here. I just wish we could have stayed longer. * In response to another review, I found kitchen to be more than adequate. Hade everything you would need to prepare meals. I made full dinner a couple of nights while staying there.

Summary: Overall, we had a fantastic stay. The accommodation was beautiful and just as the images had portrayed. Easy location to find and beautiful views from the property. There was easy communication with the owners and the hosts who stayed in the main house were super helpful and friendly.

Summary: The property was clean and the living and bedroom areas were large. There were no wardrobes in the bedrooms but plenty of room to have them. The views were beautiful. The pool pump room was literally located within the main bedroom, so it was very noisy through the day. The driveway was very, very steep. I was concerned our car would not get up it. Fortunately, we had an SUV, I don't know if a small sedan could make it. The kitchen was small and only had a bar fridge; a full-size fridge and larger kitchen would have been more ideal. There was little interaction with the hosts as they had relatives staying at the time, which may be ideal for some people. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
