Summary: Fabulous host, comfortable accommodation within close proximity to excellent public transport. Local market providing fresh veggies, meat and fish an added bonus, and plenty of options for a good coffee and corneto to start the day. If your looking for a safe, clean, friendly environment to base yourself this place should not be overlooked.

Summary: Kristin was a delightful personality who was very helpful offering great suggestions. We were surprised by the Rome tax of 3.50 per person, per day and felt it should have been mentioned in the cost.

Summary: I loved staying at this property. Communication prior to my arrival was very good and the property easy to find. On arrival Marco showed me everything, explaining it all. The photos of the property are a true reflection of it. It had everything I needed including a kettle to use on the gas- the sort of thing us Brits love. The oven was easy to use, there was a computer though I had my own laptop and speeds were good and I didn't lose my connection once. The washing machine was brilliant- just hung my clothes to dry after and they didn't need ironing! Everything listed was there and more on top of that. I should also add that there was loads of storage space! I slept well every night with no problems from outside or from the heat due to the ceiling fan cooling it down. There was also air con which I didn't need to use. I had a hire car as I had 2 more weeks in Italy but I only used it once to drive to Villa D'Este. There is a tram (8) and a whole lot of buses from either end of the road from the property that go all over Rome. I used a free app to find my way around and it was so easy! Transport tickets can be bought at the tram stop. At the end of the day it was always a pleasure to return to the property and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city and look out over the nearby convent gardens and the trees surrounding the property in relative quietness. The views from the property were fabulous. I spoke to Kerstin and Marco a couple of times, Marco has some funny stories to tell. Both spoke very good English and seemed a genuine, honest, lovely couple . I felt that they want the best for their guests, never intruded yet emphasised that if I wanted anything all I had to do was call them on the internal phone system. I was in good hands, the car and all my property was safe as the home is all enclosed. I stayed in the suite and I'd recommend it for any single person or couple, with or without a car. They can also rent out other parts of the property for families etc. When I return to Rome this will be top of my list for somewhere to stay, it felt like my home for the week.

Summary: I rented this place for 31, days(Oct 30-Nov. 2017) . Kerstin and Marco are the best husband and wife team/owners; they displayed high standards of care for their renters; issues that arrived were dealt with immediately except two, the english speaking TV channel and the oven not working, but was not a deal breaker. This place was breathtaking, majestic, comfortable, sparkling and private; as well as beautiful and ingenious. I can go on and on about the beautification of this place; you have the entire top floor; absolutely fantastic apartment with panoramic views from the huge rooftop terrace. Con's: the apartment has summer sheers at the windows which allows the street lights to shine through at night as well as the motions detector lights that come on every high wind from the trees blowing in front of them, this caused me to not be able to sleep some nights because of the excessive lights. I suggest blackout curtains on a 2nd rod. The place is clearly located within walking distance to mini markets, markets, cafe's, a plethora of restaurants, the post office, the Tram (train) #8 and buses 88, 791 and 792, the Tram takes you to the center of Rome, straight shot, tickets are only 1.50Euros (tickets last 2 hours after stamping) but no one ever used them when boarding either the bus or the tram so I was able to cash in my last 3 tickets. I felt very warm in this apartment and being in Rome. I frequent the Market, which sells everything but furniture; from the kitchen to the closet, food, vegetables, meat, fish, clothes and much more. I walked every where except to the center of Rome and Vatican City. I visited the dentist for a cleaning which was only 50.Euros. I saw a doctor which was only 100.0Euros. The yoga place down the street (Via de Forte Bravetta) also has reasonable prices and they help you with your Italian, they spoke to me in both English and their language which was helpful. I went to Mana Cafe almost every morning for coffee and pastries, after a while they knew my order. The other place I visit for lunch or early dinner was the Taverna just down the road on Gianicolense, 185, great food and Himalaya Palace 277-279 Gianicolense; just about everything you need is on the main road Gianicolense, the pharmacy, post office, the big market, just keep walking. I prepared most of my own meals at least 6.5 times a week, I really felt at home. I'm definitely going back. Highly recommended!!!!

Summary: This unit has a lot to recommend itself. The upstairs unit is a lovely nice sized suite that suited us well. There was someone who took our luggage up the stairs for us. Kerstin could not have been more helpful. We arranged to have her pick us up from the airport. On the way to "home" we stopped at a store to pick up a few necessities like milk, coffee, bread, meat, etc. We were able to have our morning cup of coffee without having to go looking for someplace to have it. It was far better having Kerstin pick us up than having to find a taxi to get there. She knew right where it was and also made the extra stop for us. The unit was very quiet, you would not even know you are just steps from being able to access everywhere you want to go. Kerstin called the local restaurant to assure we could be seated for dinner our first night - again, no having to search out a place to go in a strange country. So, jet lag and all, we had food and the things to tide us over for our full 6 day stay, a good meal and were able to go to bed and get a good night sleep without all of the usual searching for these amenities. I have spent many times in a foreign country just trying to get settled like this and having to really work at it. This was like going to stay with a friend who gets you all settled in and comfy, no effort on your part. Then she gave us all the information we needed to get to wherever we wanted to go in Rome, a map of where we were, help with our public transportation passes, local attractions, etc. Just a short walk away you find the local tram that ends at this station. It goes from here to the center of Piazza Venezia where you can walk to many of the main attractions of Rome or take another tram to where you want to go. Then you just have to find your way back to the # 8 tram and you end up a 3 minute walk away from your quiet little suite. There is a lovely view from the deck on the roof right over your head. The room has all the amenities of home. We shut the shutters and were able to sleep as long as we liked without being awoken by noises from outside. There is a lovely garden that you overlook to the front of the unit with an old convent that has been converted to a rehabilitation center or something like that. I only saw 1 older man being taken for a walk in it. Occasionally the bells will ring, I don't know how often, as I was never bothered by them. But when I did hear them it gave a wonderful comforting feeling.

Summary: When travelling, especially out of the U.S., we generally rent apartments through VRBO in order to be part of a neighborhood, at least for the short time of our visit. Kerstin’s apartment in the Monteverde neighborhood in Rome was one of the best choices we have ever made. The apartment itself was spacious (especially for a one bedroom) and included everything you need to make it a second home for a few days or for a week, as we did. The neighborhood is quiet and very lovely; the view from the landing/siting area on the roof top of the apartment is particularly stunning. Great place for a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night, as long as the weather cooperates. As mentioned by other reviewers, Kerstin is a very gracious host who genuinely wants you to have a great experience in Rome. We arrived from Florence by train and her directions to the apartment were easy to follow. She offered to take us to a super market shortly after we arrived, which was quite helpful because those stores in walking distance were closed for a Nov. 1 holiday. For 30 Euros, she also drove us to the airport the day we departed. If you take tram and bus, it will take you much, much more time and cost about as much. Getting into the main historical area of Rome from the apartment is as easy as it can be: get on the tram which originates two blocks from the apartment and take it to the other end of the line and you’re there (we suggest purchasing a multi-day pass for which works on all trams, busses and the metro). Many of the places you will want to visit are walkable from that point, except perhaps the Vatican which you can easily get to by bus. Overall, our stay in Kerstin’s apartment made an otherwise outstanding visit to Rome much better than it might have been. As for touring Rome itself, the possible places for visiting speak for themselves. In addition to the “usual” museums and historical sites, we highly recommend: 1) the Borghese Gallery (you can get reserved tickets on line before you arrive), which is very well-organized for tourists, making your visit a special treat; 2) if you have time, take a day-tour from Rome to Pompeii. It’s a trip you will not likely ever forget.

Summary: This suite is in a fantastic location for central Rome also with supermarkets nearby. The room was nicely air conditioned and all the rooms were nice. Only criticism is that on arrival we felt slightly pushed into spending more money with them and we were given a bag of things we would apparently need for our stay such as washing up liquid only to later be told this was costing us. Am not opposed to this, we just prefer them to be more upfront about it so we had more of a choice about whether we wanted it.

Summary: We were met at the airport by Kerstin as arranged, and we were delighted to have her escort us into Rome, as the streets can be confusing to visitors. On the way, she kindly took us to a supermarket so that we could pick up some groceries, and she assisted us with the language and customs, so that we could make the best purchases. On arriving at the Mons Aureus Resort, we found a charming villa in which our apartment was located. We were particularly impressed with the meticulous cleanliness of the place, as well as the newly remodeled bathroom. The location is ideal, as it is within walking distance of the Vatican, and very close to the tram that takes you into "Il Centro". The villa has a secure perimeter with ample parking for all guests within that perimeter. There are three apartments to choose from, that are suitable for groups of different sizes. All in all, we had a marvellous three-day experience, and would not hesitate to return, the next time we are in Rome.

Summary: This was an excellent place to stay! The owners were very helpful. They picked me up at the airport for a small fee and they both spoke excellent English. The apartment was close to transportation and also to a very large park. Everything was clean and in good working order. I would definitely come here again!
