3 Bedroom House in Martinborough

Blackbird House is a delightful ‘home away from home’ in the heart of Martinborough, perfect for everyone - couples, family and friends. A three bedroom house on a private sunny sheltered corner section only one block to all that the Martinborough village has to offer - cafes, restaurants, bars and boutique shopping. We are also only a 10 - 20 minute walk to a number of vineyards (and there is four bikes if you wish to go further afield). It’s the perfect location for just parking and leaving the car in the driveway while you enjoy the village and surrounds.
We have an open plan living area. Our sectional sofa is perfect to spread out on with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The large dining room table is great for gathering round for meals or playing games. The living area opens out to the sunny sheltered section.
The bathroom facilities are; a large rain head shower in a separate room, a bathroom that has a spa bath, basin and toilet and a seperate toilet with a basin. Two of the bedrooms have also have basins - providing plenty of places for everyone to get ready for the day or evening out. Hot water is provided by an infinity water system ensuring that you will always have a continuous supply.
The section is fenced and, subject to a small charge ($30 per pet per stay), we are happy to have your dog to stay (please enquire). We ask that they stay off the furniture and beds and that it is not left inside the house unattended unless crated.
For summer entertaining we have a pergola where the larger of the outdoor dining tables sits under - enjoy your meals outdoors and at night under the solar powered festoon lights. There is also a smaller table tucked in a sunny corner. A hammock swings from the pergola to the tree - a perfect spot to read or have an afternoon siesta after some wine tasting. A BBQ is also provided. For winter there is a wood burner with a supply of dry firewood with a heat transfer system ensuring the house is toasty warm. The kitchen has a dishwasher, large oven and fridge providing everything is there for you should you decide to stay in for your meals. We love our coffee and the village has some great cafes but for your coffee enjoyment at the house we have a Moccamaster glass carafe coffee machine for your use. Plunger, instant coffee and tea are also provided together with some other kitchen basics. Free Wifi is also provided.
For adventures further afield to the incredible vineyards, we have four bicycles (and helmets) plus two scooters. With the flat streets and roads it really is a wonderful way to take in the beauty of Martinborough.
Blackbird House is an ideal place to stay in Martinborough to enjoy the village and region. Come stay.
The base price is for up to 3 people . Additional people are $50 per person. A two night minimum stay is required. For the School Holidays, Wellington Anniversary weekend, Waitangi, Easter, Anzac, King’s Birthday Weekend, Matariki & Labour Weekend there is a minimum three night stay or a three night charge. For Toast Martinborough weekend there is a minimum charge. For the Christmas/New Year period there is a minimum five night stay or five night charge. For Martinborough Fair weekends there is a minimum charge of a two night stay for 4 people or a minimum two night charge for 4 people. A cleaning fee of $80 applies for each stay.

Summary: We recently stayed at Blackbird House with our children aged 5 and 8, along with friends. It's a lovely home with so many thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and herbs inside, and incredibly clean. We also brought our cavoodle and the hosts had left a treat dog biscuit for him, that was so appreciated. Amazing location too, so close to the main square. Thank you for a great stay!

Summary: Excellent place for a mid-winter family stay. We loved the open plan layout, furnishings and fireplace! Very cosy with the fireplace on and lots of space to relax. The bedrooms were also nicely presented and had all of the required comforts for those cold nights. Then there is the amazing location with it being only a short walk to the square so you have ready access to everything. You could also walk to some of the nearby vineyards or alternatively borrow the bikes from the garage. We would not hesitate to stay again when we come back. Mike

Summary: Elegantly renovated and beautifully presented mid-century bungalow a stone’s throw from the heart of the village and within a 30 min stroll of most of the Martinborough cellar doors. You really can just park the car and walk everywhere. The house is lovely, very clean, tidy and well equipped, cosy inside with the fire in wet weather, and the beautifully kept and furnished garden is like an extra living space when it’s fine - the perfect spot to tuck into those yummy treats from the food trucks on the Square. Fully and securely fenced too. Friendly, well organised hosts and a basket of welcome treats - what more could you want?
