2 Bedroom House in Beynac-et-Cazenac

Peaceful haven nestled in the lush greenery of the Black Perigord close to Beynac, the Milou Tower is ideal for family holidays. We finished carefully restoring it in 2013, and it now offers all the comforts of a modern home while retaining the charm of old stones.
On the first floor, the living room is organized around the chimney and the window opening on the fields. The kitchen is brand new and fully equipped.
The 2nd and 3rd floors each have their bedroom, one is a luminous white room with a chimney and wooden furniture and the other, in the attic, is just like a comfortable refuge. The bathroom is equipped with a bath and a wide italian shower. The toilets are separated.
The outside of the tower are charmingly organized in terraces.
The first large terrace is suited for outdoor meals and barbecues. Just above, you will be able to relax in the large and heated 12 meter long swimming pool which offers a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. It is shared with the hosts of the Maison de Milou and Grange Milou.
Finally, sports enthusiasts can enjoy the private tennis in the woods, which is shared with the two neighbouring houses !
We do accept animals for an extra of 50€/animal.

Summary: The Tour de Milou was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The views were lovely and the charming town of Beynac et Cazanac was a 10 min. walk down the road and along a wooded trail. Paula, the onsite hostess, was very welcoming and helpful and, although her English was very limited, we did manage to communicate with my equally limited French. She recommended restaurants and arranged for the canoeing. The only problem was the wifi which was very weak and unreliable. We were told that the location and weather influenced the internet service so nothing could be done. The TV didn't work correctly but was fixed by the next day after we called the office. There are fairly steep stairs to the bedrooms and bathroom on the second and third floors.

Summary: Beautiful house (although the living space is a little small for 4 people) in a beautiful setting. 1km through the woods and you're in the heart of Beynac. Amazing views from the pool and lovely tennis court. Should we go back to Beynac, la Tour Milou will definitely be the place we'll stay at. Thank you!

Summary: A lovely idylic but private location yet close to some of the Dordogne's prettiest villages. The pool was well used in the hot weather where the bats would join us at dusk ! The tower was well equipped and comfortable with lots of character and the children loved sleeping in the loft room.

Summary: We spent 2 fantastic weeks at the tour milou. All Pictures are real, the house is absolutely perfect with a good Quality, a beautiful surrounding and a great pool. My son loved this great pool, deep enough to dive and swim. The kitchen is small, but we cooked a lot. In 15 minutes you can walk to Beynac, we took there everyday our Baguette for breakfast. The tour milou is great, we can recommend it and I wasn't there the last time. From the terrace you have an outstanding view over the perigordian hills, there are only two houses around you, it's quiet and a good place on earth to relax. All rooms are very nice, my son loved his room under the Roof. Thanks for such great holidays in such a great house! Just try, you will love it!

Summary: My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Tour Milou. The accommodation was cosy, clean and well-furnished with lovely views over the valley and woods. The location was wonderfully quiet and yet only a few minutes drive (or a 10 minute walk through the woods) to the beautiful town of Beynac, where there were very good restaurants. We spent most days exploring the Dordogne area and then relaxed with a bottle of wine on the elevated poolside soaking up the evening sun. The manager, Aurore, looked after us really well and was always on hand to assist us when required. The heated pool was not as warm as we would have liked, but that might have been due to the cooler weather. We would certainly recommend Tour Milou as a Dordogne base.

Summary: We arrived at Tour Milou tired after a long journey but started to feel relaxed almost instantly. The accommodation was very clean and beautifully presented - the pictures on the website did not quite do it justice. Our kids were in the room at the top of the tower which they loved. The kitchen was small, but had everything we needed for a holiday. The pool was clean and well maintained with fantastic views. Over the week we were there we enjoyed a number of meals sitting outside and watching hot air balloons rising over the trees. The house is a 10 minute walk from Beynac which has enough shops to cover essentials and is a very popular tourist destination. Whilst we did make use of the car, it would be possible to enjoy a week without needing it much. Some activities we did included visiting Sarlat-la-Caneda, canoeing down the Dordogne and a night-time visit to Les Jardins du Marquessac - this was a real highlight!
