Welcome to a uniquely remodeled 1300 square foot guest house above the detached garage. Enjoy your mountain vacation in this modern, fully furnished, quiet getaway. This is a private, end of the road retreat with everything needed to have a comfortable stay near Durango. Located ON the Florida River approximately 7 miles Northeast of downtown and a short drive to Lemon, Nighthorse, and Vallecito Reservoirs.
Your own private spacious deck has dinner table four four with a couple extra spring chairs and tables to take in the quiet mornings and enjoy an evening dinner outside. Grill anytime of the year. The deck has an amazing view of the river and the surrounding mountains.
The open living room has a WIFI smart TV, electric fireplace, two sitting chairs, coffee table, and sliding glass doors that open to your deck overlooking the river. There is a sleeper sofa can be used for extra guests and has a very comfortable self-inflating mattress. The open U-shaped kitchen has beautiful granite counters, stainless steel oven/ gas stove top, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee makers. It comes fully stocked for those that like to cook and seating at the large island.
The large master bedroom hosts a comfy queen bed made with quality linens, a down and or synthetic comforter, extra blankets for cold nights, a large closet and armoire. We have placed a smart TV in the armoire for watching TV under the covers. Adjacent to the bedroom is an office space with a tall mirror, extra dresser, desk, and sitting area.
There is one stocked bathroom with tub, shower, sink, and toilet. All you need to get ready for a night out downtown. A separate laundry room contains new, high quality, large capacity washer and dryer, as well as lots of room to hang clothes. Up the ladder is a comfortable loft for reading a book, taking a nap, or watching the sun drop behind the pines.
We have space for two vehicles in the large pull through driveway.
Due to the proximity to water we do not allow pets, or children under the age of 10.
Owners are on the same lot but not in the same dwelling.

Summary: The location was nice, and the owners were friendly. We were very comfortable and it made us feel like we were at home. It was a sad moment when we had to leave. Definitely a great place to stay. Especially if you want to disconnect yourself and get back to the way life was before becoming so busy.

Summary: Durango River Retreat is amazing. The property, the river, the housing & our host are all beautiful. This is the very best VRBO I have visited out of at least ten different rentals. Cyndi is more than a super host. She wants your stay to be perfect and is very knowledgeable about the area. The bed is so comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The washer and dryer are full size, and the apartment is extremely clean with such beautiful views. I will be back. I highly recommend this VRBO. (The welcome cookies are also delicious.)

Summary: Beautiful property, in and out. Kitchen stocked with all we needed. Comfortable bed and even pullout couch was great. Easy trip to town. Owners on ground in case we needed anything, but you’d never know they were there. We’d come back in a heartbeat. Great bang for the buck.

Summary: This property was exactly what we were looking for. The rental was immaculately clean and everything we wanted. There are two chairs right next to the river that we enjoyed our wine from every evening. We like staying outside of Durango, and we were only about 10 minutes from town! Cyndi was very responsive to my text messages and a wonderful VRBO host. We will definitely stay here again!

Summary: Location and home are beautiful, steps away from the river, quiet and serene. We wish our stay was longer! My two teenage daughters loved, our hosts even baked us cookies! Plenty to do in Durango too, we rode the Durango train to Silverton and river rafted on the animas river. Drove to telluride to do some off roading and had a race on Saturday in the San Juan mountains. Book here!
