Positive: This place is so good, I'm gonna write 2 reviews! The food is excellent, the family is beyond caring. The kids are real sweethearts and very helpful. I went to horton plains, with their tuktuk driver of choice, he walked all the way to the top of kirigalpotta with me, and did the whole world's end roundtrip, we had a blast. Come to this place and book ashan (tuktuk), can't go wrong!

Positive: This was a lovely stay. We stayed for 2 nights. The food was genuinely some of the best we ate in sri lanka. The hosts were always very kind and helpful. We could not have asked for more. The room was fine. Only criticism was that bathroom was basic but this was compensated fr by other things. There are good walks from the housee, including gewtting the train to Idalgashinna or Hapatule and walking back along the Pekoe trail. Outstanding hike. The village is not touristy. We met the lovely villagers, were invted into their festivals. Perfect. True avoidance of the tourist trials!

Positive: People were so kind, friendly, helpful. They cooked the best food for us and made sure we were never hungry. Kids had fun playing cricket and chatting with the hosts kids. They called the train station for us to check for delays which helped. Village was peaceful. Garden was nice.

The room was pleasant and clean, and the hosts serve delicious sri lankan meals! This stay was my best in Sri Lanka, thank you so much

Positive: Stayed there for one night on 28. 06. 2024. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful place. Hosts were amazing: experienced the true srilankan hospitality. We felt more like we were visiting friends. It was very kind of them to let us leave our car there overnight until we return from our hike the next day. They even volunteered to pack our breakfast to take with us even though we left very early in the morning. And then the next day upon our arrival there was hot tea and Sri Lankan pancakes to welcome us back. What a sweet surprise! The location was convenient too. It was just a 5 minutes walk from the railway station. The cozy bedroom had an attached bathroom which was nice and clean. We loved the cute, beautiful garden with outdoor seating. This will definitely be the place we will be staying at if we will visit Ohiya again.

Conveniently located just a 20-minute ride from Horton Plains, the homestay serves as an ideal base for exploring the area. Mahinda's expertise in planning trails to the breathtaking World's End ensures you make the most of your visit with perfect timing. The homestay's charming garden attracts a variety of birds, making it a paradise for bird watchers. Even if Mahinda's wife is absent for a night, her absence is hardly felt as Mahinda expertly prepares delicious meals that leave you fully satisfied. This experience truly reflects the genuine hospitality of Sri Lanka. I'm immensely grateful for the wonderful stay and eagerly look forward to returning soon. Positive: actually we are so happy about this place. we were travelling 13th year around the world. but we never meet like this this family .very kind and welcoming family. and nice small flowers garden ,beautiful view, fresh air. and clean and comfortable room. very close to the national park. small village and around big forest. we were planning stay here one night, but we stayed here two nights. actually we didn't enough two nights. we enjoyed here with srilankan foods. we didn't had a tasty food any where in srilanka our one month travelled.
