The beautifully restored late 18th/early 19th century cottage is situated in the conservation area on the edge of a quiet village & gives easy access to the attractions of Sherwood Forest, the Dukeries & Nottinghamshire. The cottage is ideal for walkers, cyclists, National Trust enthusiasts & families looking for a child friendly holiday. A pet is welcome by prior arrangement.

Summary: Overall, we had a relaxing break with our dogs. The garden is to die for, and there are loads of places to have quiet, undisturbed walks. The property itself is huge and great value for money. Thanks for the use of the BBQ; it really made our stay in the sunshine.

Summary: Very well equipped cottage. Felt more like home than a holiday let. There is plenty of room to ‘spread out’ if needed. We have family in the area and the cottage is an ideal place to stay while visiting them and many ‘local attractions’.

Summary: We stayed here for 11 nights and had a lovely stay. The house and garden are great and we had lovely weather to be able to enjoy it and have a BBQ. The location is perfect to get everywhere including Sherwood forest, Lincoln and Nottingham and very close to Clumber Park and Thoresby Park which are lovely. We didn't need to use it as it was warm enough but in cold weather the under floor heating would be great :-)

Summary: The house was very clean, comfortable and cosy with plenty of room to ‘spread out’. Our dog loved exploring the large garden and relaxing in her bed which was made all the more cosy by the under floor heating. The property was conveniently situated for us to visit relatives living nearby.

Summary: Lovely accomodation, well placed for Newark, Nottingham and Lincoln. House was well equipped and warm . Be warned if staying over Christmas and new year the carpenters arrms is not open so will need car if want to eat out, can recommend the fox at Kirton

Summary: Amazing place with all the facilities that are needed. It was lovely and warm with underfloor heating. Really comfy beds. Nice to have 2 sitting areas. Large garden although not used due to the snow. Location excellent with many things to do in the area and a fabulous Italian Restaurant nearby. We will be back!

Summary: We stayed at The Cottage unbetween selling and buying a house. The owners have thought if everything. Very quick to answer queries. Very accommodating. Childrens park 2 mins walk away. Lots of wildlife to spot and some very friendly cows over the road . We were sad to go
