Summary: The house is clean, quiet, and comfortable and has all the basics. Sylvie was very helpful and made many suggestions about local attractions, as well as generously bringing us a welcome bottle of local Cremant. The only reasons for 4 stars instead of 5 were that we twice blew a fuse when using the oven at the same time as the stove (making dinner difficult!) and the inconvenience for us creaky old folks of having no upstairs bathroom. It would have been helpful if the description had made this clear.

Summary: The cottage has everything for a perfect holiday, like hiking maps and information about activities nearby. The garden is child friendly: fenced and with the possibility to climb into a tree. Our children of 2, 4 and 6 years of age could play in the garden without supervision. The house is beautifully situated with magnificent views on a castle and rocks. There are many hiking trails nearby.

Summary: I stayed here with my family, 6 of us in total, and we all absolutely loved it here. The house is beautiful and has the loveliest view over the village. It is secluded and very private but only a few minutes walk to the centre of Obersteinbach where a baker comes each morning and you can buy fresh bread, crossaints and pastries that are delicious. There are plenty of beautiful and easy walks to do from the house. There is also horse riding, a local goat cheese farm and a restaurant within the village. Sylvie was the best host you could ask for. She gave us lots of great recommendations for pretty villages to visit and amazing restaurants (one of which we loved so much that we went back again the next night - Restaurant Au Wasigenstein which is a cosy little place that does great French food and amazing desserts for a very reasonable price). It was also lovely that Sylvie was so flexible with check in and check out and she really did everything possible to make sure we had a great stay. We would definitely come back again :)
