Casa Escocesa is a beautiful oceanfront villa located in an exclusive residential area of Tulum and just steps to the breathtaking lagoon of Soliman Bay, right out of the back door. The villa boasts high quality construction with tastefully decorated furnishings. Our guests love our well cared for 4,000 sq. ft. of living space, 1,000 sq. ft. of covered terraces and the sparkling 30 ft. swimming pool, overlooking the beautiful Caribbean.
You will love the large open gourmet kitchen with stainless appliances and a gorgeous granite countertop center island, great for gathering and entertaining.
We have 4 bedrooms, each having it's own bathroom and each offering gorgeous views of the Caribbean. Three bedrooms have king size beds and sliding glass doors leading to covered patios, overlooking beautiful Caribbean waters. The 4th bedroom has two full-size beds and plenty of closet and storage space. Each bedroom has individually controlled air conditioning for your comfort.
The open and expansive living room on the first level comfortably seats up to 12 people, with a wet-bar for entertaining.
An additional open, spacious and beautifully decorated living room upstairs has a 60” flat screen smart TV, a desk, and a pool table.
The villa conveniently offers a bluetooth sound system/speakers throughout, including the rear pool area, with plenty of outdoor lighting.

Spectacular Villa for a perfect vacation/visit. Tastefully furnished for a comfortable and thoroughly relaxing vacation. Sparkling 30 ft. oceanside pool. Fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and stainless appliances. Amenities include 60” smart flatscreen TV, DVD, wireless internet, bluetooth enabled sound system, the most secure doors and windows available in Mexico. Our villa is a 10-15 minute drive to the “town of Tulum” for city/night life with bars/restaurants. We are also approx. 10-15 drive to the “beaches of Tulum”, with more upscale bars, restaurants, & nightlife.
Our home caretakers are happy to assist you with your vacation needs. In addition to their light housekeeping duties and home caretaking, they also offer additional services (for very reasonable fees paid directly to them) which include: cooking, handling laundry, handling grocery shopping and babysitting.

PLEASE NOTE: The beach area at the rear of the villa has beautiful soft sand, however, the entrance to the ocean water directly at the rear of the villa is rocky. Swim shoes are recommended/necessary for entering to swim or snorkel. Right outside of our back door, you can walk approximately one block in the sand toward Soliman Bay for entry into the water without the rocks.

Summary: We had a great stay in Tulum, the property is idyllic and the waves crashing on the shore provide the perfect backdrop for sipping margaritas from the pool. The property was just as advertised and the caretakers took amazing care of us. Great location for exploring the rest of the Tulum area as well. Would highly recommend.

Summary: Our two families travel together every year. This year, we picked Tulum. We had a great time and would stay at the house again! I wanted to also provide further insights if you are considering staying at this house. Elder and Elda, the home's on-site caretakers, are fantastic! They did the grocery shopping and cooking, and the house was cleaned every day. They are also very knowledgeable of Tulum. On top of the excellent service, they are a really nice family. The house is beautiful. Great layout. The pool and views are breath taking! The photos on the website are probably 10 - 15 years old. There is some deferred maintenance that could be taken care of, like the broken screen in one of the bathrooms. Windows that used to open, but are now missing the knobs. In fairness, I'm not sure we would have opened them because of the heat and bugs. The road to the house, off the main highway, is EXTREMELY bumpy. It is a dirt road with lots of potholes, making the ride very uncomfortable. This could be due to the hurricane. Nevertheless, it is so bad it needs to be repaired as soon as possible. Please keep in mind this is only constructive criticism. Our families had a great time!

Summary: Casa Escocesa is amazing! We were three couples and each of us had our own king size bed and private bathrooms. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are spacious. We took the opportunity to have in-house meals prepared for us. Elda makes delicious omelets, guacamole, and the grilled fish is a must! Both Elda and Elder are so personable and quick to respond to any requests. We fell in love with them! Communication with Patti, the homeowner, was incredible. Always answered any questions or concerns promptly. From the group: Thank you, Patti, for your incredible hospitality and graciousness! We loved everything about staying at Casa Escocesa and cannot wait to return!

Summary: Pretty home with space for a large group. We were there in rainy weather, but greatly enjoyed ourselves. Our on-property cook was excellent. Two hesitations in giving this property our highest rating: the beach was mostly coral and afforded only short walk opportunities, and a condominium building is being constructed right next door. Otherwise, 5 stars.

Summary: Plenty of room ...pool was pristine .... waters at the beach were perfect .... elder and elda were excellent host and property was kept perfectly clean the entire time we were there and elda's cooking was beyond fabulous !

Summary: Beautiful property in a central location. We visited Akumal, Tulum, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. We felt very safe and enjoyed amazing meals all week. We had Elda cook for us on night one and it was a wonderful meal and Elda’s fish was the best we had all week (and we had lots of great fish dishes!!) sea turtles arrived almost every night to lay eggs. Wish we could book again to see the baby turtles hatch. Very safe area - guard Shak is 1 mike in and the house is another mile past that. We are at 2 of the restaurants right on that one mile strip and we were not disappointed. Fantastic place to get the best of the area.
