Summary: After travelling in a very elderly lift and negotiating a labyrinth of out-dated and somewhat scruffy corridors, our light bright and spacious room was something of a surprise. Although it was essentially a white box with a view of the bins, some attractive furniture and soft furnishings in sea-side colours gave it a lot of charm. The bathroom was also spacious, light and bright. It was all spotlessly clean and well-equipped with all the basics including good-quality tea, coffee and biscuits. With its convenient location near to the station and lots of restaurants and its cliff-top position, the Great Western is a great and good value base in Newquay

Summary: Great stay but it was a very hot day and with no air conditioning it was ridiculously hot and we were unable to sleep.

Summary: The location of the hotel was fantastic and central – perched on a cliff with a breathtaking view. Taxis were right across the road and shops just around the corner. The room was perfectly fine and almost clean. I need a good pillow - this pillow was a bit too soft, and the room faced the road, which made it quite noisy. Delicious pancake breakfast in the restaurant with a lovely sea view – a very nice bonus. Overall, the hotel was generally worn, but had a certain charm to it.

Summary: Hotel is fine for one night away. Parking is an issue, but down the road, if you dont mind a 2 minute walk, is a small 24hour car park, cheaper than the £10 per night the hotel charges. Floorboards in room 223 were extremely creaky. I feel sorry if anyone stays below. Walls were stained. In need of a repaint. Wobbly taps, broken shower (needs a new washer fitted to stop the leaking - not “ecofriendly”). Room unbearably hot during the night. Bed was comfy. Sheets were clean. Great location in the centre of town. Easy to walk to beaches and restaurants, but don’t stay more than one night.

Summary: After booking i emailed about parking..but didnt get a reply..luckily i managed to park opposite on road.. But was bad service communication wise

Summary: If the standard of the hotel decor , was as good as reception area, it would be a nice place to stay, sadly once you leave the reception the rest of the hotel including the rooms a grubby, with stains on the carpets in the room and corridor, it reminder me of a homeless shelter.

Summary: This hotel could definitely do with a make over as it looks tired. My one complaint was that breakfast was not included in the price so do not believe what you read on the internet that the price includes breakfast.

Summary: Hotel very dated but lovely and clean. Well done house keeping. All staff very friendly and its in a great position in Newquay for walking to the beaches. There is a Bus stop right outside the hotel to the airport which cost £3 each.

Summary: Excellent stay rooms are very clean good food and bar should point out that although very clean some of decor throughout needs tlc but would not let this put me off staying again
