Positive: The decor was lovely and the facilities ideal. The property has a lot of character and charm. Despite the extremely cold weather it was cosy and comfortable. The location is ideal and the views memorable. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful.

Negative: The owners are carrying out renovations in the directly adjacent property and I was subjected to excessive noise from the cellar directly below me. I understand the building work may be necessary but it should be suspended while there are paying guests staying. I left after one day as a consequence.

Positive: Hallgreen Castle looked great on arrival The Apartment was spacious TV had a fire stick Adequately furnished Free Wi Fi Dog friendly

Negative: We stayed in the Apartment Surrounding outside area was dire, unsafe and dirty, as was the window to the ‘seaview’ and the offered patio set piled at the door. Couldn’t look round the outside of the castle to take in it history No welcome or signage to where to get help or drop key off If fit, you can get short cut down to the beach Nearest pub very long walk up hill out of estate Taxi to Gourdon Harbour Bar ( £10 return ) Excellent Chippy in village, no delivery service
