Positive: We had a lovely 3-night stay at The Place. It was warm, cosy and very well appointed, with everything we needed for a comfortable break. The bed was super comfortable, the shower was great, and the location was perfect — quiet yet close to everything. The fabulous welcome basket was such a thoughtful touch too. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Positive: A very tidy, tranquil, and cozy place. We were welcomed with a little gift basket and everything was top-notch. A clean bathroom, warm blankets, and also great instructions to get around in Johnshaven.

Positive: Vicki was an excellent host who was available at all times. The house was spotless with everything you would need. The location is perfect, near to the harbour, a quaint bar/restaurant and village shop. I would absolutely recommend you stay here when visiting Johnshaven and the surrounding area.

Positive: Great location right by the harbour. The property is very well equipped and exceptionally clean. Everything in the property works well and the heating kept us all cosy. The nearby "Hidden Treasure" tearoom has amazing cakes and scones.

Negative: We parked in the allocated space in front of the cottage with no problems but drivers of larger people carrier style cars may have some trouble squeezing through the gap at the entrance. There is however plenty of parking at the harbour about 20m away.

Summary: Cosy comfortable cottage in beautiful Johnshaven right by the harbour, don't tell anyone though :-)

Positive: Everything..! From initial contact with the host to the surprise welcome pack on our arrival. The cottage has such a great atmosphere were you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. The interior is tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. We had a great time visiting friends in the area and would highly recommend the Place to other guests who are looking for a great cottage as a base to explore the area. Can also recommend the Anchor pub for good food, drink and atmosphere, only a 2 minute walk away..

Positive: The Place is a home from home with everything you could possibly need. The wee private garden is a sun trap and so relaxing to sit and chill. The real fire was so cosy and welcoming. All the rooms are bright and airy with a lovely notical theme, which runs through the whole house. We didn't manage to eat at the Anchor as fully booked, so I would recommend doing this if you would like to eat there. A lovely wee cafe with great ice cream. We can't wait to go back. Thank you, Vicki, for coming to welcome us and go over a few things. 🥰
