Positive: The location was easy to find. The staff we met (James) was absolutely lovely - we had a late-ish check-in and he phoned our room before he left for the evening to make sure that we got in okay. That was much appreciated. The beds were comfortable enough. We appreciated that the room did not have carpet (laminate floor).
Negative: Our main concern was the lack of communication from the property regarding the fact that all amenities (including the pool) were closed during our stay, and that our booking was "room only." We really would have liked to have been notified of this in advance, as having the pool option (in particular) was one of the reasons we chose the property. Closing the pool (and other amenities) over the holiday period in December is reasonable, but should have been communicated to us prior to our arrival. The room (Glasgow House) was fine enough, but was more on par with a budget hotel room (think Comfort Inn) in terms of furnishings, finishes, and cleanliness. The furnishings were a bit dated, there was staining in the bathtub and on the ceiling/walls in the bathroom (particularly in the tub area). Some of the paint in the corners of the room was peeling. We were satisfied enough (and did not complain) because of the off-season rate (about $175 per night taxes included), but would not have wanted to pay more given what was offered.

Positive: The pub/restaurant was fabulous ....the food was awesome and service was great. All were very welcoming. The resort was having a dinner/dance which required tickets and they were sold out so I sent a email asking if we could go on a cancellation list. They followed up and we were able to attend the wonderful event. Now that is caring efficient service. Thank you Thank you.
