Positive: Amazing experience here! Beautiful family of 6 ( 4 kids super nice and happy) incredibly kind and helpful. I joined dinner with them, which was very tasty, and shared nice moments, learning about them and the local community. Even played good chess after dinner with them. They would help with anything Truly a REAL local experience (+ they speak English) . Highly recommend if you are looking for something traditional and not fancy. To me, that is the real luxury!

Positive: Beautiful location just outside the main centre of Ruteng nestled in the mountains! Lovely house with very comfortable room and lovely outside area for breakfast! The family were extremely welcoming and hospitable and our dinners with them were by far our highlight. I would highly recommend this homestay to truly feel at home away from home :). Thank you so much!

Positive: We like the surrounding of the hotel... village setting. The inclusion of dinner is really a blessing. Dinner was delicious. What is lacking is hot-water too bath in the room. But owner is upgrading it. But hot-water for shower is available at the common bathroom. Like the prayer time before meal daily @7pm. The family that prays together stays together. Will like to follow what they have implemented. Kudos !

Positive: In an island full of very friendly people this family was the friendliest of all. A simple yet comfortable place to stay. The family invite you to eat a traditional dinner and even join in evening prayers if you want. Such nice people, one of the best parts of our trip so far.

Positive: We loved our stay. The house is simple but very clean. The family is wonderful. Very friendly and kind. Very good people. It was a wonderful experience. The dinner served was also very good. We stayed with our children and it was a wonderful experience. It is not a hotel but the human component surpasses everything. Thank you

Positive: It was a very nice experience to spend time with local people and being welcomed into their home. The children are super lovely and well behaved. It was great to talk to Magdalena about all sorts of things. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast was fresh from the bakery. The next day Hironimus went out of his way to drive me to help me find an ATM. They have installed showers for their Western guests. The water was accidentally turned off when I was there, but the girls gave me a bucket of warm water so I could have a shower. This is a place where you come to meet and spend time with the family. All in all it was a lovely homestay experience.

Negative: Unfortunately the timing of my one night stay coincided with the parents not being there until the evening, as they went to visit their son who lives 2 hours away, and they only see him twice a year. Because of this I was welcomed by the lovely Karla (their oldest daughter), but it was much harder to arrange for me to visit nearby sites. She did her best and arranged for their regular driver to come to the house to discuss options. But without them being there he went a bit rogue with the pricing and I couldn't do much as he didn't speak English and I really wanted to see the sites. Magdalena told me afterwards that they make sure their guests pay fair prices, but since it was the first time they weren't there they couldn't help me in the moment. Because the house is located quite far out of town I felt a little isolated at first because the parents weren't there and I couldn't ask for advice on how to get around and recommendations. But that was a rare occurrence.
