Welcome to Aqua Villa & Cottage! Constructed in 2015, Aqua Villa is situated directly on beautiful Unicorn Cay Beach along the prestigious Banks Road, just five minutes from the town of Governor's Harbour and ten miles from the Governors Harbour airport.
The white Bermuda roof and ocean color façade of this aptly named, 1500 square foot villa immediately draws you in from the secluded parking area below. Curved limestone steps usher you up to Aqua Villa's entry while you are taken in by the sunset-facing heated pool, large pool deck and covered porch for private swimming and sunbathing.
The 350 square foot covered porch extends from the pool deck to separate wall-to-wall sliding door entrances to the two large adjacent bedrooms. The contemporary bedrooms each have king sized beds and the master has a LED flat screen TV. The master bedroom has an en-suite bath with private commode and shower. The second full bath has a porcelain tub/shower combination for those who enjoy soaking after a day of swimming, snorkeling, exploring, and beach walking.
Aqua Villa's extra-private third bedroom suite is located in a detached guest cottage below the pool area. The cottage has a king bed and a full bath, TV, plus a mini-fridge and a coffee maker.
Back in the main house, the two bedrooms open to a vast east-facing great room with sweeping beach and ocean views. Enjoy the view while lounging on the comfortable sofa and leather chairs in the open living area with 55-inch LED flat-screen TV. The sofa converts into an oversize queen with a high quality mattress to accommodate two additional guests. This spacious, airy room has a beautiful tile floor centrally embedded with a compass design. A fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances are available for those who enjoy cooking up local seafood caught with your spear or line, or bought at the town dock. Enjoy mornings at the breakfast island or dining table for six while you eat and take in the ocean view.
Wall-to wall screened sliders open onto at second large covered porch furnished for dining or relaxing as you enjoy the beach, ocean and lush landscape. Savor a sunrise breakfast and listen to the surf of the Atlantic or prepare a dinner on the outdoor gas grill and relax on a lounge. The enormous mahogany deck overlooking the beach is reminiscent of a ship's bow from which one can gaze at expansive, unobstructed north/south views along the beach.
Kayaks and beach going equipment are stored under the deck. A short grassy path leads downhill past a fully constructed outdoor shower with bench. Literally steps from Aqua Villa, a pristine pink-sand beach and crystal clear turquoise water await you. Your own thatched palapa provides a shady respite on your sunny beach.
Aqua Villa is fully air conditioned and has its own generator should power be interrupted. A laundry room is equipped with front-loading washer and dryer. Other amenities include high-speed internet with WIFI, cable TV, and a DVD player.
Nearby are Tippy's restaurant, a 5 minute walk down the beach, and the Banks Road Deli. A short drive back into Governor's Harbour and you have the convenience of banks, ATMs, grocery stores, bakery, liquor stores, gas stations, the Haynes Library, dive shop, gift shops, and medical clinic to satisfy your needs. You can dine at local places like Da Perk, the Buccaneer, French Leave 1648, Sunset Inn, or the Friday Night Fish Fry near Cupid's Cay. Centrally located, you can easily travel to many of Eleuthera's famous pristine 100 beaches, such as French Leave, Twin Coves, Ten Bay, or Sky Beach. Travel to the bottomless Ocean Hole, explore the caves, or visit small villages on your way to Lighthouse Beach and its cliffs. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time staying at Aqua Villa! It is perfect for our group of 6 friends. The additional cottage is great to give some space for our friends that like to sleep in. The view from the back deck is beautiful. I love waking up and having my morning coffee looking at the ocean. The beach is just a few steps below which makes it super convenient not to have to pack anything. Steve has lounge chairs, beach chairs and kayaks for use. The pool is perfect for a later swim or just using the grill and relaxing Tippy’s the best bar on the island is just a short walk if you’re hungry for lunch or want to have an afternoon cocktail. The only thing we wish is that we could rent Aqua Villa a few days longer. It is only an Sat-Sat rental and two weeks is too long for some of us. A ten day rental would be perfect. Overall, we absolutely love this house and can’t wait to return to Aqua Villa and Eluthera!

Steve, the owner, and Sonya, the property manager were both highly available and super responsive for any issues that arose. We rarely, ifever, travel to the same destination twice, much less stay in the same place, but we would ABSOLUTELY go back to Aqua Villa in a heartbeat.

We will request a few improvements for our net visit. 1) That the property be fogged to reduce the no-see-ums (This would apply to any property) and 2) that the very loud squeaks of the bed in the master bedroom be addressed. We are confidfent that these issues will be taken care of and look forward to our repeat visit.

She sent lots of information about the island, restaurants, shopping, etc. She was quick to respond, and everything was as we had hoped. Aqua Villa is all the space you need. It's open and has a wall of stunning views of the ocean and beach. The house has been taken care of and has a back up generator, which is great since power goes off every now and then...this is all part of the adventure of Eleuthera though and we didn't mind at all:) Best vacation ever!

After we arrived at our original rental, we were told there was an issue and we could not occupy the house. The owner worked with the property management group and quickly found us this beautiful substitute. The home owner had just arrived at the house but graciously moved to another property he owned right down the road. The view is gorgeous and beach access is easy but does have some steps. The beach is beautiful and we may have crossed paths with 5 people the entire week. The cabana is a great asset to grab some shade. You can beach walk for miles if you choose to do so. The house is well equipped, comfortable, clean and in an excellent location in the middle of the island by Governors Harbour. The owner was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and activities. We brought meat from the states to cook and did eat out at several restaurants. We never had a bad meal. Bought lobster in Tarpum Bay at the pier and cooked these at the house. Bring cash because the places that do take credit cards may also have issues with internet to process your payments. When you venture to the north part of the island, Mel's in James Cistern has really good plates of food. She cooks out of her house. The Bougainvillea resort just down the road from the house has very good food and pizza night on Thursdays. The Fishbone Bar and Grill on Savannah Sound also has good food and drinks and they have guided tours you can book to explore the Sound. Beautiful week with good friends, great accommodations, and a great island. We went to the island off season so many restaurants and shops were not open. Very quiet and relaxing with plenty to do and see.
