Miðengi is a new modern 3 bedroom luxurious villa located in Grimsnes, 45 min drive from Reykjavík. Its a walking distance from Kerið and 30 min away from Geysir, Gullfoss and Þingvellir.It was build in 2010 and is 97 square meters. The Property is very well equipped in every way, its surrounded by terraces, outdoor Jacuzzi, outdoor barbecue (gas), extra cost. garden furniture and the whole house is floor heated .There are three bedrooms all equipped with queen-size bed and a wardrobe, the master bedroom has a TV. The living room and the kitchen is one big area with large windows and a door to the terrace and a dining area for 8 people, TV and sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped, it has fridge, freezer, dish washer, spam stove tops and an oven. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and a door to the Jacuzzi. There is also a washing room which has an extra refrigerator. The Cottage has a Wi-Fi. up to 15 GB

Summary: Our second time in the cottage, and as with the first time, everything from checkin to checkout was faultless The cottage is spotless, equipped to a very high standard and in an ideal location for south and mid Iceland. To stand on the deck at night and gaze at the huge sky of stars with no light pollution is amazing.

Summary: I can not say enough wonderful things about Thor or his family's incredible cottage. This was our first ever VRBO stay and now the bar has been set high. Thor was fantastic with communication beforehand and met us at the property upon check in. He explained how everything worked and showed us the book with instructions for anything we may forget. The book also included wonderful suggestions for sites to see and places to eat and shop. The cottage itself was beautiful, cozy and clean. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped and the decor was beautiful. Soaking in the hot tub after a long day of sightseeing was just another bonus. Selfoss, which is less than 15 minutes away, has everything you could need or want. The cottage is located within a short drive to many must see sites on a trip to Iceland. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Summary: The cottage has a nice isolated feel, even though there are others relatively nearby. Nice grill. Relaxing hot tub (be careful not to close the door to patio, as there are no handles on the outside). We got a bit turned around on our inaugural trip out and Thor was very responsive - kindly meeting us in town and leading the way.

Summary: The title says it all. The Thorsson family are very kind and helpful people and their cottage is lovely. The location was very convenient to Kerith Crater and many of the best sights in Iceland. The town of Selfoss is only a 10-15 minute drive away and has everything you might need - a supermarket, clothing stores, a new food hall, several very nice restaurants. We saw the Northern Lights 3 of the 8 nights we were there - incredible! There is very little light pollution at the cottage as the nearest neighbors are not very close. All of the amenities (bed, hot tub, kitchen etc) were perfect. To sum up, I would definitely stay again. The cottage has a perfect balance of being quiet and secluded

Summary: Without doubt, the nicest, friendliest host we could have hoped for in Thor! Superb, detailed communication, precise driving instructions from Keflavik, and met us in person at the cottage. It was our first visit to Iceland - they say that first impressions count, and our first impressions were how clean, well appointed and located the cottage is. Reykyavik only an hour away, Kerid crater within walking distance, Selfoss 25 minutes away for fuel, food and supermarkets. Located on the Golden Circle and with the south coast easily reachable, each of our 10 days brought something new, knowing that we had a comfy, warm and peaceful cottage to comeback to. We have nothing negative to say about Thor's property - we were sad to leave, but are already planning for next year, as there is so much to see in Iceland in so little time!

Summary: The property was very nice. Fully furnished, conveniently located. The hot tub was a huge plus to unwind and relax later in the day. Location is central for true Iceland experiences around Golden Circle. It was absolutely the best experience ever. I would highly recommend.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay 100% at Thor's place. The house was clean, the beds were comfy and the hot tub was an added bonus. With four kids, the washer and dryer really came in handy. The location was perfect for us. We wanted to me in the middle of all activities, and this location was convenient to everything we wanted to see. I think the longest we drove to get to site was maybe 1.5 hours. We rented a car, and it was very was easy to drive around Iceland. Thor (and his family) have everything you need in the house...including great coffee! We sat outside in the hot tub each night hoping to see the Northern Lights! Our kids liked the house so much they wanted to stay there instead of sightseeing! We used the grill more than once too! We would for sure stay again, and thank you Thor and family for such a wonderful time in your beautiful country.

Summary: We spent a little over a week at this property for a family vacation - 2 adults and 2 older children. The house itself is fantastic, and was immaculate when we arrived. The property owner, Thor, met us at the property when we arrived to show us around and explain how everything worked, and was a pleasure to deal with throughout our trip. The house has a nice open and airy design, and has all the comforts of a great place to stay, from a great coffee maker to a fantastic hot tub with plenty of hot water. The washer/dryer were also great. The location was fantastic in that it was easy to get to so many sights and attractions with a very short drive. Would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to spend time in Southern Iceland.

Summary: Our family (2 adults 3 kids) had an amazing time at Thor's place. The house is roomy, clean and offers all amenities that you could want in a location that can't be beat. The location by the crater offers a central point to hit all the southern Iceland destinations and our week at the house allowed us to see all the main and many "hidden" attractions. Could not have asked for a better place to stay and highly recommend for anyone who wants to see a beautiful part of Iceland and stay out of the tourists trap of Rekyavik!

Summary: We absolutely loved our stay at Thor's property. There were 3 adults and 1 young child, and we had plenty of space. The property itself is beautiful! Very clean and comfortable. The views and surroundings are spectacular! The location is nice and close to the Golden Circle and South Coast, but with relatively easy access to Reykjavik (about an hour away). The hot tub is a nice perk! There are some quirks with the hot tub and appliances, and when Thor walked us through how to run everything, we were all sleep deprived from travel, so I would just encourage future guests to listen carefully and make sure you understand 100% how to operate all appliances/hot tub :) Thor was very responsive to our questions and helped us work out those quirks quickly. He was a very nice host and we thoroughly enjoyed staying at his cottage. We would recommend it to just about anyone looking to stay outside Reykjavik and closer to nature!
