Beautiful waterfront private home in Goose Bay on the Saint Lawrence River. The guest space features 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, 1 full bathroom with a shower, a brand new fully furnished kitchen, a private deck, 2 sitting areas by the water, comfortable open floor plan, and a floating dock. This house has a private well with a water filtration system and supplies excellent drinking water.
There is a deck with a patio table that seats 6 attached to the house, a picnic table on a brick patio and a patio set that seats six with an attached fireplace right by the water. Guests are allowed access to use all of the areas. For social distancing purposes, you pick which outdoor dining area you want and only you will use it during your stay. There is also a new dock that will accommodate a 30-foot boat. The rental comes with use of a fire pit, 2 kayaks, corn hole boards and numerous board games.The unit is completely disinfected in between every rental.
The unit comes with an oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator, air conditioner, towels, cleaning supplies, some sanitizing wipes, disinfectant, and hand sanitizer. We do disinfect it but feel our customers may want to wipe some things down for their own peace of mind.
We allow 4 adults and 2 children at this rate. Children are 8 and under. We expect the space to be left exactly as it was when you arrived. Failing to do so will result in lost of part or all of the security deposit. If it is left as you found it we will refund your cleaning fee.
New in 2021:
* New deck built off the rental space with a patio table, umbrella, and grill. This is in addition to the other outside dining spaces.
* Replaced futon with a leather sofa with a queen-sized bed. We added a memory foam topper to ensure comfort.
* Replaced chair in ling area with a leather recliner
* Added a variety of spices to make your cooking away from home easier
* Added an under-the-counter mounted knife block with knives for the inner chef.
* We are now supplying a comforter and 2 pillows per bedroom.
New 2022:
* We installed a whole house generator. So no worries about storms knocking out the
power.
* Free WIFI
You can enter the space through a secure sliding glass door that enters directly into space. The upper level is perfect for individuals that need to avoid stairs and allows you to pull your car right up to the door for loading and unloading. Then you can park your car in a private lot directly about the rental.

Summary: The property was just what we had in mind for a few day stay near Alexandria bay. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view, have a campfire, or eat outside. The sunsets were fabulous! The owners were very nice and helpful, and it was a short drive into town. The space inside is not huge, but it was enough for us.

Summary: Alexandria Bay is a super cute town, Boldt Castle was amazing, but beyond that we didn't find much else to do and the house rental was somewhat disappointing. Although nothing in the description was technically wrong, we didn't feel it accurately described the property. The house was located several miles from town, so not walkable. The only real view of the river from the house was through a window in one of the bedrooms that was partially obstructed by the roof. The TV was in the kitchen and could be seen at an angle from the tiny living room but it was not a comfortable layout. Our biggest complaint was that this unit was an upstairs apartment with an open staircase to the owner's living area on the main floor. There was a sliding lock on the door that led into their part of the home, but the main exterior door into the owner's area was at the bottom of the stairs which is open to the rental unit. That made us very uncomfortable, especially when we found out the owners were going to be there the same weekend (for 1 night). It wasn't that we were concerned about safety (although technically it could have been an issue), it was more of a privacy issue. Had we known what the layout of the rental property was really like, we would not have rented it. We actually left a day early because of it and the owner didn't offer to refund us our money when we notified them. The property was clean and in good condition, but I would not recommend it to other travelers.

Summary: Despite the weather, we had an amazing time. The property is very nice and well maintained. The inside space is very clean and well stocked with pots and pans and utensils, etc. You do need to Bring your own sheets but towels and a comforter are provided as well as 2 pillows per bed. The tv is in the kitchen so don’t plan any movie nights snuggled up. There is a well stocked cupboard of board games though! The outside space is wonderful and a lot of love went into their choices from the beautiful Amish style furniture to the personalized fire pit. There is a nice picnic table to eat at and a beautiful dock to fish in. I would highly recommend this space for 2 adults or a small family. The owners were very responsive to texts and were helpful with any questions or concerns we had. We would definitely visit again. It was just the peaceful weekend away we needed.

Summary: I cannot even begin to express how incredibly grateful and fortunate we were to have had the opportunity to stay at Mallard's Landing. As an individual who has a 24/7 job, opportunities to fully uncoil from demands have been few and far between over the past two years. I was initially excited to explore the area and do some touristy things, however after experiencing a sunset unlike any other that I have previously experienced, we were really content to eliminate area exploration and just chill. I read a book from cover-to-cover and engaged my memory muscle with drawing for the first time in many years. While I did peek at work emails intermittently, for me, I was unplugged and yet my partner had the benefits of not missing any College football or NFL games over the weekend. It was a win-win experience for both of us! To the owners of Mallards Landing, thank you so much for your willingness to share your property with others.

Summary: Great location to 1000 Island boat tours of islands and attractions like Boldt Castle, close to good restaurants and shopping at Alexandria Bay. Fun fishing from the dock at rental, sunset views, campfires over-looking the bay, access to BBQ grills and picnic tables. Nice 2nd floor apartment with bay view from one of the bedrooms and the living room. Very homey. John and Linda are very hospitable hosts.
