Positive: Amazing value for a lovely accomodation with beautiful kaiseki meals and great onsens, including first come first serve private onsens. The spaces look and feel old, but in a charming, clean way that is very cool to experience. Also cute cats and a little media library!
Negative: The overhead lighting/style of lightbulb was a bit harsh.

Positive: Located close to several bus stations, this Ryokan is easy to get to. They serve delicious Japanese breakfast and dinner, which you need to book at least 3 days in advance!
Negative: In our case we did book dinner and breakfast in advance but they messed up the booking so we ended up Sunday evening without pre-booked dinner. They were quite embarrassed about it and apologized sincerely but didn't really propose any alternative option for our Sunday dinner... Furthermore, the facilities are quite old, the toilet in our room had a strong smell of humidity.

Positive: Loved the traditional house, felt very looked after, the food was absolutely delicious and the baths were amazing. No queue needed. Staff were also very thoughtful and caring. Plus the cutest cat milky added to the charm of the place! There’s also a lovely lounge where you can chill.
Summary: Overall we loved it! Coming to Hakone during autumn has been wonderful and we’re glad to have come here

Positive: They accommodated my partner’s celiac disease and made everything gluten-free. Strongly recommend celiacs book this ryokan (just give them a head’s up first!)

Positive: Very relaxing, cosy, welcoming and had a warm nostalgic feel about it. It was clean and well equipped for things to do! I loved the recreational area full of games, manga and crafting resources and not to mention the private onsen. I especially loved the cats Milk, Leo and Devil. I was very grateful to the kind owner who let me meet them all and loved the cuddles I got with Milk. We were taken care of well. The location was also great, a short walk to the pampus fields, local restaurants and great hikes!
Negative: Nothing. It was a great stay, thank you.

Positive: The house was adorable, the rooms were cozy and quaint, the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD, the onsen was so relaxing and the cats were of course cute too
Negative: The location is a bit out of the way compared to the rest of Hakone, but is right next to the bus stop so it's still pretty accessible. The outdoor onsens were also closed due to wintertime but the indoor ones were still great.
Summary: A gorgeous retreat in the Hakone countryside, would absolutely recommend (especially with the meals)
